Resonator should help fix some of that drone...I hear magnaflow makes a good one.

raven, is your atlpV2 resonated or non-resonated?

if non-res, weld in a magnaflow#10426 resonator onto your exhaust...it will help with the drone immensley.

You could start by adding a large resonator like this one:

Resonators will help, but only to a certain point. Highway drone is the only reason I won't ever go with an aftermarket exhaust (at least not anymore). I've upgraded every other exhaust part on my Legact GT, just not the rear section. I'll be doing the exact same with the TL-S. Power is gained, and there could certainly be more, but it's not worth it if you're miserable during highway cruising.

I've heard all kinds of brands of cat-backs (from el-cheapo to HKS Silent series) and they all have highway drone.

One serious option to consider would be sound deadening the rear quarter panels, floor, and trunk. By sound deadening, I mean at least 1 or 2 layers of mat, then closed-cell foam, then weighted vinyl. Only then would you see a significant decrease.

Or just put your stock mufflers back on

With your LGT if you run equal length headers, you would be surprised how quiet it would run. I had a perrin catback with a long resonator welded in, perrin dp, ewg plumbed into the down running maddad headers and it was quiet at cruise. Drone was a non issue, only time you could really hear the exhaust is under heavy throttle.

Actually we incorporated Purge Resonance Technology into our mufflers and the drone is very minimal and almost non-existent. For those who are looking for a throaty at WOT but civil exhaust note at idle and cruising our resonated system is a perfect choice.

Hmmm interesting. I could see the EL headers helping a bit, plus the fact that the turbo is churning the air a little bit as well. However, the TL headers are anything but EL, and I bet the j-pipes are generally not made EL either. Sounds like you have similar taste in cars

I assume this "Purge Resonance Technology" is a patented type of muffler or resonator? Would you mind explaining what it is and why it makes a difference with highway drone?

Hi Excelerate - which one should I buy if my car is fitted with the EVOII catback? It says universal fit, and I forgot whether mine is 2.25" or 3". Do you have any comparison videos with it?

Thanks. My drone is getting pretty irritating.

The Jpipes are equal length and do decrease drone. However, just because you have a Jpipe doesn't mean you won't have drone.
