I had the ATLP race pipe and switched to the hfc. I feel like I got back a little bit of low end tourque I lost from the full exhaust install, but it's minor. I also think it tamed the exhaust slightly, feels a little "tighter" for lack of a better term. This is very slight though since, overall, my exhaust is still on the loud side imo. As far as if it's worth the money, tough call.
Yes, the j-pipe will bolt up to your stock cats (pre and 3rd). Remember though, if you're running a j-pipe with the stock 3rd cat, or exhaust, you'll have a minor bottleneck due to the different diameters.

A high flow cats is for the guys with non resonated exhausts who want to tone them down.

Lose the third cat and get a race pipe. The first two cats do most of the restriction so removal of the third cat while leaving the stock two inplace will give very little gain in sound and performance. The race pipe(straight pipe) is cheaper( $100 ) and will give the max gain short of removal of all the cats.
