do I need a new timing belt for crank pulley?
I went to pepboys to install UR crank pulley today, and the guy told me that I need a new timing belt that will fit the underdrive crank pulley.

LOL, first RUN from PEP BOYS....great for alignments, bad for engine work. If I took my car in to get a crank pulley installed and they told me I need a new timing belt, I would respectfully tell them "no thanks".

It is recommended to get a new serpentine belt even with the stock size pulley. Based on all I've read a Gates Belt is preferred.
It is absolutely necessary to get a new belt with an under-drive pulley; since the pulley size changed, the old belt won't fit.

Excelerate can provide the correct GATES accessory belt part number for you
There is a differance in the stock pulley edge and UR design- the Gates brand belt fits the UR best and will prevent noise issues later
Look in the phone book under auto repairing and service for a smaller sized ad-private owned shop that says or shows a honda/acura in the ad- an import shop
The pulley job is simple for a tech WITH the correct pulley holding tool ($25)
without that its a pita. With it -20 minute job- 20 minutes to take bathroom break and 5 minutes letting car idle,,, then bill you for 45-60 minutes
Go in person and ask how many they have installed there, and does the tech have the correct holding tool. Techs are happy to say when they have actual experience and tools for a particular job--its pride in work..
There are many honda tuner/speed shops- they can do it no problem
they should also know the torque spec is 181 foot pounds on the bolt and have a torque wrench able to measure that- or say if they use the other method to torque
