Question DIY S/C Install.....Recommendations

So i'm really close to deciding on buying a used Comptech S/C for my 3G TL. I've been doing alot of homework lately before making such a big commitment. If i buy it I plan to install it myself with help from my brother-in-law. I'm not a master mechanic but i am a Mechanical Eng with hands-on experience and i do enjoy messing around with my car. My wife, my job and my house consume alot of my time so i dont expect to be able to finish this in a weekend like others have done. Luckily i've got a 2 car garage and a second car so if it takes a while its not a huge problem. I actually think the most fun part will be the figuring out the install so a little longer install is ok as long as its not months. Below is the list of mods i would do with this install. I'm wondering in what order i should complete the mods to minimize rework and downtime. Once all is installed a trip to the tuner would be the next step.

Components:
- S/C
- AEM FIC + modified extension harness
- RSX-S 330cc injectors
- AEM water/meth kit with Snow Performace Solenoid upgrade
-Wide Band AFR kit
-PCD's
-High flow 3rd Cat

Here's how i was considering to do the install:
1st Weekend
PCD + HFC + Wideband Kit

2nd Weekend
Hardware mounting Meth kit with solenoid upgrade using the windshield tank for meth liquid. Of course S/C would not be in yet so i would not wire or connect anything just mounting of hardwere and leaving it near where it will be once fully connected.

3rd Weekend
Hardware mount AEM FIC. Again not connecting wiring or any ports just mounting hardware and leaving things near final location.

4th Weekend
Final build.....S/C and final connections of everything premounted before.

Theoretically i could drive the car during the weeks in between assuming i finish each session's work before i need to drive to work Mondays. Anyways that is just how i have thought about doing it. Of course i've never done it before so maybe i've got something totally wrong.

Anyways, i'm interested in hearing thoughts form others (especially those who have done it before). THis will help me get closer to deciding if i should buy it because if i need to pay someone for install on top of cost to purchase & tune then i probably wont do it.

Any help is appreciated!

Nice! Looks like a good game plan! Only thing I would throw in the mix is a boost gauge so you can monitor boost levels. But other than that can't wait to see the finished product! Also did you add the relay to your FIC to control VTEC? If not get that done if you wanna change VTEC points.

^^^THx for the reply. I'll look into the VTEC relay. I've read it brings it from 4500 to 4000, sound right? Is it possible and is there any benefit to lowering it a bit more?

Also i noticed on your signature, it seems you are running stock primary cats?? How long have you had the S/C with the stock cats?

Lastly, how many miles on your TL and how many with the S/C?

Well you can actually set it to whatever you like you will just have to set it in the 12v output setting in the FIC when I got my vehicle tuned it was set at 4000 rpm for it to kick in and Comptech has it set on there ACM at 4000 also thats where the car reacted the best on the dyno. Yeah im still running the Stock cats and so far so good eventually I will change them out to HiFlo PCD's probably after the holidays. I have 65,000 miles on my car and ive had the S/C since 53,000 so far so good. The only problem I had was tuning the FIC thats it. I just recently upgraded my exhaust to a magnaflow 3" from the cat-back and changed my downpipe from the ATLP to the RV6 and I felt a difference gonna take it to the Dyno next week to see what it does. I have something in the works as far as another tuning option Ill keep you posted on what I do. And beleive me it will change alot for our cars

get the 410RDX injectors instead of the rsx330.
Check the S/C belt it comes with and the Pulley just in case its the high boost one.
does it come with the stock intake or a DIY one? you should get a DIY one.
You can read my thread in my sig for more info.

Good info....thx

Quick question, if i use larger injectors do i still need to crush the fuel pressure regulator? I have read people say it both ways.

Looks like you thought everything out pretty well.
Infamaous is right, go with the 410cc's.
I crushed my FPR before I upgraded to to the RDX 410's and have had no problems that I know of.
I didn't see a J-pipe in your components or your list of current mods. Do you have a J-pipe?

I believe the rsx330 was used by the previous owner because its plug and play where the rdx ones need some modding.

The 410's need new pigtails (clips). It's not too bad but they should be soldered on to the existing harness, and be sure to use heat shrink to cover the new splices.
I bought mine from this place but you may be able to find them cheaper.

I'm also thinking about running the meth from the wiper tank. Previous owner mounted it in the tank so I'll need too get the bulkhead fitting and move the level switch too the wiper tank. I also read the meth controller can power a bypass solenoid if there is am issue like no meth mix. Thinking about looking into that as well just as a cover your ass.

If i were to use the tank level sensor signal form the meth controller as a safeguard (low meth triggers "safe mode")....its seems the AEM FIC has a wire that when powered triggers a second safer map.....wouldn't it be better/simpler to have the "safe mode" signal trigger a solenoid on the blower output basically not letting you build boost if you have no meth?? THis second option seems simpler than making 2 maps and it is a more direct solution going right to the source.

I know i may be overthinking this but just trying to cover if i forget to refill meth tank.
