Distributo cap TL 04?

Hi,

My TL 04 doesn't have a convincing start in the morning especially.
I used to have battery issues with HFL unit but all looks ok and i know how not to lock it down by not pressing on the bluetooth button. i've change the battery since feb09 and bought a huge battery charger yesterday to test the battery charge.
The battery is fully charged so i know it's not the battery. i've change the Fuel pump relay switch from Mistuba to Denso (TSB bulletin car stalling).
i am thinking to change the Distributor Cap but i can't seem to find it in the e-manual of acura.
is there one hidden somewhere? do i need also to change the ignition cable?

please let me know so i can work on it today

thanks

LOL?

Sorry man but this car has coil packs, crank position sensors, cam position sensors and an ECU all of them combined makes this car run..

Your way out of your league here I wouldn't even attempt touching the car anymore at this point on. Take it to an ASE certified shop or an Acura Dealership that know's what they are doing.

BTW ive seen countless batterys pass a load test while the car is off and when you go to crank ive seen the same batteries just load tested drop below 8-7 volts. You need to give us more symptoms to help you out, what happens when you go to start, do you get dash lights only? does it sound like a machine gun going click very very fast? It would help..

someone said run the sunroof on AC power only (engine off). If it is noticeably sluggish, you have another example of Acura's fantastic, 96 month (ha!) stock battery. Replaced one myself before the car was even a year old. They will continue to good will it even after warranty of car expires, usually.

the TL cranks slowly sometimes due to the ULEV system. it tries to reduce emissions at startup thus causing it to crank longer or making it sound like its not going to start...

I am currently on battery 3 I think. Maybe 4. All OEM batteries. They seem to last me about a year or so, then just go out. Once they quit replacing them for me, I will buy something else.

Good luck OP, but as someone else stated, take it to a certified mechanic. A distributor, that is just grand!

so this is normal? i have killed 2-3 batteries, one of them being a $200 Braille. Acura recently tested the car and there are no unusual power draws, the alternator is producing what it should, and the battery is good to go, but it still hesitates to turn over especially in the morning. It started the best with the Braille, but i cant keep wasting the money for those if they end up killing them..

Yes it is normal...I dunno about the killing batteries part though. It states this also in the owners manual that it takes a while to start.

Well, the ULEV slow crank is normal. And Acura OEM batteries blowing goat is normal but, killing a Braille isn't. It's possible you just got a bum Braille, I guess. Is you car garage kept? I see you're in Michigan. Is it worse during the winter?

No garage yet, but hopefully by this winter. And yes, it is a little worse during the winter but only when its really fkn freezing. Just a normal cold winter day doesnt affect it that much. Also, the car started way better with the Braille and thats what i had this last winter, but all of a sudden when i was driving home about a month ago my radio kept going out, then a bunch of dash lights went on and then went off, and it was hesitating to shift from a stop. My plan is to send it back to the manufacturer but i have just been busy. I think this is a good time to make myself a note...

That sounds like alternator issues to me. If it happens while you're driving, it ain't your battery. I can honestly say, of all the work I've done on this car I've never even seen the alternator. I think the big autoparts chains can bench test your alternator, but it would require you removing it. If it's not too much trouble, pull the alternator and battery and watch them test it.
