If you were to get these with a jpipe and high flow third cat to an atlp exhaust, will the gas smell be gone if not barely noticeable cause of the cat or no? Has anyone tried it?

I think the smell of the opened up exhaust has been blown a little out of proportion. I'm thinking most have just been spoiled by the ULEV filtering so well before it exits the pipes.

It can't be any worse than my old '90 4Runner with 240K miles warming up in my garage...and that girl needed a while to get up to operating temp. I never paused before I got in and almost blew chunks from the fumes.

Seriously, didn't anyone drive beaters growing up?

rear cat comes up thru the top of the engine bay

there is a halfshaft heatshield held on by 2 or 3 12mm bolts
you need to get at those first
4 x 10mm hold the heatshield on to the rear cat

once you get the above off you should be able to wiggle off the heatshields, it takes a little play but they pop right out (thru the bottom)

some cars I've done them to odly require you to remove a little headshield bellow the injectors... also may even have to pull off 2 injectors the passenger side 2 to get that waffle looking cat out

e-money if you have any questions you know damn well to aim me
