What mods should i do?

okay, i got my 05 Acura TL (AT) like 2 weeks ago with 81k miles on it. I live in So Cal and i don't really know what laws there r against certain mods or w/e. I dont want it to be "louder" really , but would u know what i meant if i said deeper? NOT LIKE ALL SUPERCHARGED AND SHIT for thousands ok dollars...... just like a touch louder...and a touch like deeper.

ummm....
i already got some nice chrome rims...

CAI? u think thats necessary? and if you think its necessary, what exactly will it do and how much r they?

any info would be much appreciated, thanks

OP, search for info about different catbacks and different intakes and so on

Use this for info: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/performance-modifications-tl-owners-701772/

The intake will give it a deeper sound, but pretty much only when you floor it. If you want an exhaust that'll give the car a deep growl, I think ATLP's the only option for you with a J-Pipe & 3rd Cat delete. All the other exhausts I've heard are kind of loud, even in mid RPM range.

True, but the ATLP just seems more tame and what he's looking for. I've heard the Evo 2, and maybe it's my ears, but it seems too loud in high RPMs, and doesn't exactly have a deep, growl to it.

But, that's just my opinion on it.

If you want to go cheap for now just eliminate the mid muffler and replace the huge OEM resonator with a Dynomax resonator.

Paint your mufflers

If you want just a little more exhaust note delete the mid muffler. You could also add a j-pipe and high flow 3rd cat to get more sound.

Yes get an AEM CAI.

Pricing can be found on our webstore if you're interested. Click the link in my signature.

I have the mid muff delete, but also change the OEM resonator to a Dynomax. I have the AEM V2 next to me just WAITING to be installed, CAN'T wait to install. I also will get a J-pipe (which one??? I don't know) and a 3rd cat test pipe. The catback exhaust will have to wait until after I get Tein SS coilovers and 19" Axis Hiro's.

Not sure, as most I've heard have an exhaust system as well. I'll let you know when mine are installed.

I am the owner of an Acura TL 2005. Base. I recently took on the project of mods/upgrades. I purchased the A-spec suspension, and the RSB from Comtech. I want to change to Brembo Brakes but need to do a little more research on that. I really dont know where to go for the most competetive pricing. My question is, with the mods that are available, which are the best ones to invest in? Also I am looking for the Acura TL 07 exhaust tips. Where can I find them as I have looked all over with no sucess. I want an indash upgraded stereo system. any sugestions there? Thanks!

honestly dude skip the cai u really dont need it unless u want the cool vtec noise or u can remove the restriction box and get the same noise from the stock components.....and mod the muffler instead.....the muffler is really where the gains come from.

anastasia ur best bet for brembo upgrades is going with the stock setup and you would need to get the calipers rotors pads and brake lines im pretty sure it all bolt on.....and then you need a spare tire for the brembo setup lol they make it diff from the auto to the stick models because the brembos stick out more. the exhaust best bet for sound and stock look is the atlp or if u wanna go really stock TL type s is the next option...i went with the type s exhaust and cut out all the resonators and put the precat deletes on......car sounds mean now.

I have read that the AEM V2 makes a definate power upgrade from many people here and other websites. That and the J-pipe I would think would be the best 2 mods for under $800. Then UR pulley, catback.

i have an aem cai as well you really think it makes power but it doesnt, does 3 hp make that much of a difference??? not after the computer adjusts to it and it regulates airflow. its back to normal plus ur still only taking in 14psi so air is air......through the aem cai its just getting there directly instead of hitting all the ridges on the stock setup....oh wait i forgot the cool noise it makes but other than that....your still getting air at basically the same rate. and the V2 makes the noise bigger but doesnt produce more gains unless the throttle body opening got bigger.

when i finished school the last thing they taught us was engine performance..... the one thing the teacher said was unless u play with A/F ratios from the beginning dont bother with an intake....the manufacturer already preset that for u and it doesnt have to be touched until the car has had other mods already done that will at somepoint require A/F to be changed. the reason some of us have to change out our plugs earlier thans others is because the cars are running leaner instead of richer. more air than fuel effects the motor in a negative way (obviously) but the car wont compensate toooo much because its told in the computer not to, otherwise we wouldnt need A/F controllers or dynos and the cars would regulate on their own

Actually, if you browse the forums, and rear others' sigs, you should soon get an idea of what mods are worth investing in as many people here carry the same modifications.
