Considering RV6 V3 J Pipe
I've been researching this for several days now and have decided to go with the RV6 V3 for a little extra grin. My question is....I see that there is an increase in HP and TQ but what about MPG and Top Speed?

Top speed - should stay the same at ~130mph because it's electronically governed. You won't be blasting past that. I think you'll need to get the Comptech S/C to get up to that speed in a safe distance though.

I thought I read somewhere that the top speed was 150...I guess that was wishful thinking. I did have mine up to 135 once and it never shut down. Maybe my speedometer was off.

Just put my RV6v3 on Saturday. Reset the 'puter, and took it for a rip. Nothing huge was apparent at first, besides the improved pedal response really. After having started and driven it maybe 10 times since, and put like 200 miles on it, its very noticeable. Pedal response is better all around, and the car almost feels lighter in itself. And just the perfect lil added growl.

Stop contemplating, and just buy it/install it. Probably the easiest and simplest power mod and if you know your car well enough you will notice a difference in performance and sound.

Get the PCD along with the J Pipe for a more noticeable difference. Then deal with the rasp later on when you get to that bridge

this was my first mod on a 2005 AT base and I was very pleased. the install required some brute force and WD-40 to get the seized bolts off.

I find it hard to believe that removing 1 small cat would cause rasp... but that's just me being stubborn lol. I think 99.9% of the time, switching from the stock j-pipe to an aftermarket one will not result in any rasp. I think the fact you had the Greddy on there had something to do with your rasp.

From what everyone on this forum say the best bang for the buck would be the jpipe. I personally like the new RV6 V3 pipe. I actually just installed mine in my 07 6mt Type S this morning. Fitment was perfect, exhaust note did not change at idle, but you can hear a slight difference at about 2500+ rpm. Sounds real nice! Performance wise its hard to say as I only drove it once since then, but felt decent.

ok so i recently had a cai and rv6 v3 jpipe installed on my 08 type s, and at first i noticed a slight sound difference which i liked. But now i am noticing that there is definitely RASP from the jpipe at about 2500-3000 rpm when i give it about half throttle. Anyone else experiencing this? starting to worry about a leak or something....
