It depends on what you value...
If you enjoy listening the the whine of the blower unit under WOT then yes it is worth it.
If you like the hear the sound of air rushing out of the exhaust tips then yes it is worth it.
If you are trying to win a trophy at a car show then yes it is worth it.
If you would like your luxurious family sedan to pass other cars on the interstate with ease then yes it is worth it.
If you dont care about decreasing the longevity of the J32 and transmission then yes it is worth it.
If you enjoy compliments from random people then yes it is worth it.
....theres more but im done for now...

so question. i'm planning on keeping the car for a while. how much does the longevity of the J32 or transmission decrease by the addition of the supercharger, and does it hurt resale value if I do decide to sell the car? (we ALL seen the cars with owners claiming they've put $15,000 into the engine but selling a fraction above kelly blue book)
I would LOVE this in my car. but i'm concerned about the damage it can do (if not properly maintained) and if i keep the car for a while.
BUT something says screw it. More than the HP i want the torque I think the TL is missing.

noone can say exactly how much shorter the life of the engine would be.. if you sell the car, take the charger out.. if you want speed.. GO FOR IT!!

i know a mechanic that works on acuras/hondas for many years. he built himself a 933whp civic. he also recently built a custom twin turbo for one of his friends 3g TL - i know it sounds like bs but its not, it added 230whp and got 11.02 in the 1/4 mile with his tires losing traction all the way down the track. parts and labor added up to
~10g's - well more worth it then the supercharger thats out.

They just need to design a rear turbo setup!! No intercooler needed and the turbo will hold up alot better. You are then able to use less boost. Its a sweet setup. The question is, how feasible is this?? I would love to see it done, it would not use any pullies to put parasitic loss on the motor. The piping would be the fun part. But just imagine!!!!

You will need 2 J32 blocks on tap so when it blows you will have them ready to drop in.

why would i lie? lol. its not like im saying im the one that has it. this guy lives in connecticut but the mechanic who built the custom twin turbo works at the shop just blocks from my house

Its not we think your lying. It just doesnt make sense for alot of reasons. 3600 LBS car with Driver having 400-450 WHP will run 11.02 with front wheel drive. It may be possible with slicks but I question it on so many levels. For one our computer system is very complex and in order to acheive 230 additon whp he is running at least 10 psi. now this much boost will require quite a bit more fuel. now i dont know what fuel system he used but I know our computer is a Pain in the a_ _ to deal with. Me personally i would love to throw a turbo on my TL. i just dont think it is a safe deal nor an easy task. my guess is that his motor will not last too long. I again would love to see pictures of this. I know there are 2nd gen TLs with turbos, I am not saying it is impossible but its a tough one to accomplish

i forgot to mention. the mechanic did mention something about sending the computer outsomewhere to have it reprogrammed...if i see him around soon ill ask him more about it all
it did req a lot of work and time(i would imagine, a damn twin turbo) since he was owrking on it himself and had to make a kit from scratch.
if your interested, for somewhere above the $10k mark, im sure he would make you one too. should be easier after doing it the first time.

The question is not the HP, as the HP does not get it to speed but maintains the speed. The real question is the torque, and where it produces it. Off the line the car would be slow, but once the two turbo's spooled, it would shoot off like a dart. And with a full in 3rd and fourth, it would run faster then the Z06. This is all theoretical, as we do not have any graphs or power to go along with it. Its possible that he has done other major work or even a motor swap to an older one, and changed to an older ECU. These are not things that we know. But any way you look at it, this would require major work, as I don't see the stock motor, axels or the clutch handling that type of abuse. Remeber also, this guy has built it as a race car, so more then likely it doesn't weigh 3600lbs anymore, it could be a good bit lighter( I would hope!). If an all motor civic can run 9.99 in the 1/4 then I believe a TT TL could run a 11.02. As for the Civic, I did see it run that time at a NDRA event. For those that don't really understand the difference between Torque and HP, here is a good link. It puts it into terms that can be understood. Again, as the article states, "it is better to produce torque at high RPM's then at low". That is what produces higher HP #'s.

That would be amazing... not that i would put a twin turbo in my TL. but maybe a single turbo I dont know if we went over this or not, but has a legit company built a turbo for our TL's? On another note, as said before the CT s/c will reduce engine/transmission life. I also think if your always at WOT then that will also effect the car's life (maybe the car will last a bit longer if you do regular driving on weekdays and kick it up a notch on weekends? hahah )
