I just wanted to let everyone know how stoked I am about the comptech super charger! I just dropped off my car at ComptechUSA in Eldorado Hills for them to install a super charger and catback exhaust for my 04 TL 6spd. The car will be done probably tues or weds, and i will have some pictures then. damn, im so hyped up!! i just thought i share with you guys!

 

SWEET!!! i have to make a decision, either to sell my project civic or save up for the S/C

 

i sold my motorcycle for this charger! kinda sad, but sweet! hahahaha!

 

Be sure to let everyone know how it runs. Beyond just the power, let us know how it starts, idles and if the throttle response is affected.

Are you getting a new clutch? When I had an 89 Toyota Supra, there was a dude on the e-mail list with a 603 rwhp Supra (Mk III - not the new one). Anyway, he broke everything a few times...

• Transmissions
• Wheel bearings
• Intercooler piping
• Motor mounts
• Driveshafts
• Differentials

I saw he had stripes pained on the tires and wheels. He said it was to see if the wheels were spinning faster than the tires.

Bottom line, take it easy on the car and if something does not seem right, get it checked before you break something.

We're talking about a 60whp increase not a 600+whp monster.

 

$4500 w/tax included for the charger, exhaust, and free installation along with tuning and dyno. I can't say how I got the deal, but thats how much i paid.

 

that sounds pretty good to me, because the charger alone is somewhere around $4500 already and the exhaust is another $1k so if you got the both of them and install for $4500 I say that's a deal

 

Wow that is a sweet deal you got there!!! Be sure to post up hp/tq gains thru the dyno. You will be if not one of the fastest TL on the road thats for sure. Can't wait to see pics.

I believe it totally. He is from cali so he probably has some good connections that we dont have. I am waiting about 6 - 9 months to purchase one. I am hoping to get my supercharger, and installed for 4500. Awesome deal

they're tuning and dyno'ing the car. and i dropped it off last friday when they were closing. so most likely they didn't start work on it until sat. hopefully i'll be able to pick it up tues

 

Just out of curiosity? but I thought the S/C system came with a piggy back. Are you getting it custome tuned? Is so wat are you using to tune it with.

 

I was going to call BS on this one until I called Comptech today. They said they did a TL awaiting a s/c. Now, I just want to know how you got that price? You must have gotten everything at cost and the labor for free. I wish I knew who you know. I paid $960 for the exhaust and $4250 for the s/c. With labor I'll be lookin at a little over 6K. You got one hell of a deal my friend! My wallet is very jealous.

I callled Comptech today and they said they did not have any(superchargers) to release till Dec, 15 or so. It must be a trade out deal but you should not post prices that other people can't get. That is not cool....

theres no need for me to lie about anything i post on here! like i said in a previous post, believe what you want to believe, but i know what i paid. and once again, i can't say how i got it, but i got it. sorry, but im not trying to be a dick. i wasn't even going to post anything on here until the charger until it was released, but i was just way too happy, so i thought id share my happiness with u guys! lol

 

they are using the piggy bank. but i donno, the guy just told me they're going to test, tune, and dyno! so im just repeating what he said. and hopefully i will get my car back tomorrow! and i do have a few pics that i took today when i went to comptech. i'll try and post it later.

Thanks, that probably means they want to make sure the piggy back is workable on all TL motors. All motors are different and they react differently to things. they want to make sure the S/C is safe for everyone to have. Thats my guess for that comment. they will check A/F ratio Timing etc.....
