Comptech S/C for 3G Type S?

Is it even available? I did a few searches and can't find anything. Does the Non S 3G TL S/C work with the S (I am thinking no), anyone know for sure?

Thanks

It MAY bolt on... but there's no tuning mechanism to make it work properly with the TL-S.

Wouldn't you need to dynotune it for a/f etc anyway?

That's the point... Thera's no mechanism to adjust a/f. The SC comes from Comptech with a piggyback ACM that adjusts the stock ECU signals that drive fuel delivery. This ACM is designed and tuned for the 3.2L engine. There is no ACM for the 3.5L engine... Comptech probably has that on the horizon, but I suspect the 3.5L is tweaked so much, they likely don't have a lot of room.

and there is no Greddy E-manage, or other ECU based tuning application for any TL either... so how do you tune?

Some knucklehead may post, "call hondata", but hondata's been working on something for the 3.2L TL for years... and it's still not out yet. 3.5L probably has not even made it to the drawing board yet.

So it's all bolt on's for you.

You live in Northern VA... Where you gonna drive fast with all that traffic?

I believe lookinco and a few others have been running with the G-Reddy Emanage Ultimate with the BoomSlang harness for the TL 3.2

Yeah I was just going to ask about LookinCo being F/I with a 3.5L conversion. Should work the same way with the TL-S?

Ryan at rywire can make a plug and play harness for the new aem fuel and ignition controller. I have heard that this works with drive by wire.

Someone should ask Team Honda Research what they use. Im sure they arent using a standalone system. Could be wrong.

Im quite sure the hondata program would work fine, but it is just a reflash. Not adjustable and the same program for every car. You would be much better with a piggyback system and a dyno tune from a reputable tuner, i.e. Jeff Evans.

^ that is until someone makes an oem ecu control interface such as the hondata s300 or Neptune for the older honda cars.

If you would've searched you would've found a thread I made when I first joint...

Greddy emanage is the best bet... But you'd have to cut into the engine harness since boomslang does not make one for the type s... I emailed them long ago and they didn't say they were working on it...

Ps. The s/c from the 3.2 does bolt up... But that's it

Just to let everyone know, I had a custom harness made for my TL-S from boomslang for the Greddy E-manage Ultimate. I have not been able to try it out because I am in the process of moving soon and have not had the cash to by an e-manage. They may be able to make mre of them if the still have my info?

My harness is for a 2007 type s manual. I had them custom make it for me. All they needed was for me to provide a copy of the ecu wiring diagram.

Also, like I said. I was going to install it but, I am moving and could not get the cash for the e-manage right now. I will post once it's installed.

did you keep your exhaust?
if you go F/I the 2.5" tubing will show plenty of gains... (but swap the mufflers)
looking forward to pics...

ps. Also wonder what the difference between the AT and MT are...

I stand by my words...

Lookinco says he's done it, but never showed anything to demonstate it, not a dyno to show it works.

Everyone says boomslang and greddy emanage are the best, but NOONE here has demonstarted a working combination of the 2. I laugh when I see people reccomend a solution that has yet to be demonstrated.

spas says he has a harness, but no tuning... That's a step, but it's not there.

All vaporware as far as I'm concerned.

Someone step up and supercharge a TL-S... and DOCUMENT IT.

I was going to buy a charger but, my future comes first. At 23 I have my whole life ahead of me to buy a supercharger. I have the opportunity for a great job in Virginia. Need to use the cash to move. One of these days I hope to actually use this harness. If someone has a TL-S and they want to have it supercharged I am sure that boomslang could make another one.

Last I heard Lookinco was still having problems getting the "tune" needed out of all his efforts so if you want the same issues he has, there would then be two with similar issues.

Wat about the guy with the charged accord with the 3.2... He has been using emanage from the start for fuel mapping... Pretty sure he could email you his specs or put them on a data cd and mail them... Upload them to the emanage then fine tune it for the 3.5...
Regardless it will require at least
$5500 for the charger, emanage and harness

Then there is paying for the dyno runs which will probably be $3k after all is said and done

I dont know where dyno tuning would cost 3k?
That must be the super special mugen tune.........

If anyone here pays over 1k for dyno and street tuning with any efi system, they are getting so ripped off.

Price adjustments for those planning to supercharge the type s, in my efforts to become the first one I have only been met with excellent possibilities

the only obstable remaining aside from getting the aquired parts is finding a place to tune in New York, I do not want to purchase the charger without having a competent tuner...

Used Supercharger $3-4k
Install - DIY
BoomSlang Harness (NOW AVAILABLE) - $199 + shipping
Greddy Emanage - $250
Tune - ???

anyone know of a place that can tune in NYC, NJ or CT

Email from boomslang this afternoon
Hello,

We can custom make an emanage blue harness for your 2007 TL auto for $199 + shipping.
Please call us to order. Thank you.

Regards,
Rustin

I still have not had the time to get up to my storage unit to get the harness, I have been very busy. Hope I can this week.

Just so you know, my harness was made for the E-manage Ultimate. A lot of S2K guys I have talked to tell me that the Ultimate is a lot better then the basic. More room to play with tuning.

Stilhere, if you need any of the giagram info for them to make the harness, feel free to let me know. I want to supercharge my TL but, there are a bunch of other things I would like to do to it first. Also, still working on my S2K and my GSXR.

Hit me up if you need anything.
