it is 2.25" piping/tubing whichever you want to call it, and it does not void your warranty (except for the warranty which covers manufacturer from defects of the exhaust only)
note: stock exhaust is anywhere from $400-600

I talked to my salesman and a guy in the service department at my dealership today(separately to make sure they weren't bullshittin'
). They both independently said that as long as an aftermarket part didn't directly cause a stock part to malfunction, you're warranty is safe. And the service guy said that things like exhausts and CAI's have about a 0% chance of screwing something major up if they're installed properly. I wouldn't worry. I have a 2008 TL-S too, so I know all about the fear of having 4 stacks of high society on the line. lol

ok , I agree with all the posts on here
but remember one thing Acura is a business, there not in it to give away 4-7 thousand dollar engines, so if you have mods and something happens they "MAY" be able to say that was the cause, on the other hand how can you prove it wasnt.
In response to your problem its simple, buy the test pipe and dont worry about it, but for the ultimate piece of mind, take off your cat, bust out the inside of it " made of a hard clay like material or some junk" and replace the stock cat.
That way it still looks stock. Last time I check Acura mechanics could not see through metal.

Also, if you're going to do any of the stages of the stock exhaust mod, go w/ Stage 3. Stages 1/2 aren't worth the trouble, and Stage 4 might be too much.
