You would think comptech could go ahead and put an intake out on the market.

2 weeks for comptech means roughly 2 months for them...theyre never on time, but their products are worth the wait

Any idea if the Comptech intake will be made of aluminum, like the AEM and Injen, or plastic like the previous generation's version?

Also, which do you all prefer? I believe that the aluminum would be more durable, but the plastic would not heat up as much.

Your opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

I just wanna know WHEN the CAI will be available? waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting.........sheeesh....

I had an '03 CL and had a COMPTECH CAI. What I liked about the Comptech was that it blended in well w/ the rest of the engine compents. It didn't stand out ....meaning it looked "factory".

That is my opinion....

Is there anything that makes the Comptech intake better than a AEM or Injen intake?

Other than the fact that the dealers tend to not "knock"comptech parts - this is the main reason why. Previous posts have already covered what is different. Basically...it is made from black plastic and is a bit of a different system with an airbox involved....rather than the metallic "ram air" type system like the Injen or AEM types with the filter on the end. I actually would tend to thing that the Injen or AEM units probably produce better HP than the Comptech....but have no data or anything whatsoever to back that up...just my personal view from looking at the designs of the two.
