Comptech Exhaust Installed

I have installed the Comptech Exhaust and it was one of the easiest jobs I have done so far. I love the way it sounds, it has a nice deep tone that is not loud at all. If you are just cruising you can't tell the deference but if you get on it the deep tone comes to life. The motor seems to rev a lot faster and you can feel a little more power. I have driven it about 40 miles and have seemed to gain about 1-2 MPG. I would say the steel was top quality and the welds word pretty good. I would say it was work the money to this point.

I have a couple of pics I will post as soon as I can figure out how to insert the images.

Nice! Yes, pics please. The Comptech exhaust and Rear Sway Bar will be my next mods. How long did it take you to install?

It took me about 45min to an hour but take in consideration I was using a car left at my dads shop. I would say about an hour an a half to two hours using jack stands.

I am also going to be putting on a CAI, Pulley, E-Cats, and intake spacers. Should be getting those next week. Would have waited to do it all at once but I just couldn't wait because the Exhaust came in first.

When I got mine installed at the muffler shop when I got my car....it literally took them 10 minutes on a lift. Unbolt old system, bolt up new one. Its that easy. Took me longer to find a friend with a truck to help take the old one back home....lol. Cost of install....free if you do it in the driveway....but as I said...it was colder out then so I took mine in and since it was so new, and everything came on and off so easy...it was only like $50...and as I recall....as I watched...I felt taken on that price...but was more than satisfied with the results! Its easy easy easy.....especially if you have a lift to work on or can get access to one. I also got the comptech system.

Thanks MichaelBenz

Did you have someone put in your E-Cats or did you do them your self?

I'm now trying to avoid TL pictures with the rear aspec kit on it because I want to convince myself I don't like it. These pictures are not helping...

Same Here, I didn't think it made a lot of difference but comparing that to mine has me thinking twice about it.

is your car manual or automatic. Ive been thinking about the exhaust for a while now but i just put 2 12" subs and 2 amps and sound deadning and so on. so basically i added some weight to the tl. Performance then is not really my goal but more the look and the sound. I dont know if it really is worth paying that much

Joe Demaree does most of the work on my car (NDRA/NOPI driver) and he also put those on for me. So yes...I had them installed. My garage is full of other work and storage...so I dont often work on my own car anymore.....just other projects....lol.

I would recommend it...but fact is...if you are into you sound system...you may just as well leave it alone. You never know what the resonance of the exhaust can do to your sounds.....got a friend with a Diesel dodge fighting this right now....resonance on the exhaust he used faught with resonanace on the stereo....so he ended up having to trash a $1000 exhaust and go back to stock to rid himself of the issue. Not heard of it in the TL....but who knows?

I have the Comptech exhaust. It's a well made exhaust system. Sounds good with no drone. It is expensive. The muffler shop that installed it said they could have put on Magnaflows for half the price. I've had my Comptech exhaust for over a year, it still looks and sounds good.
