hi, i've been reading about muffler threads for over 30 pages at least
but i still have no idea how it works
i've read about how you can replace the muffler tips?

can anyone suggest me what i should replace for my muffler,tips or whatever?(i have no idea how it works) under the price of 500$ CAD? i'm looking for a deep vroom sound, but not too loud

and in addition, once you suggested the product, can you tell me what i should tell the car mechanic to do?
because basically...i have absolutely no understanding of the mufflers

I also have the same problem. I have been wanting to do a mod on the exhaust and don't understand the different types/parts of the exhaust system. Whats a Catback system? axle back? muffler? resonater? exhaust?

Can some1 pls explain this? Also what kinds are compatible with the 06 TL? I know comptech has a cat back or something like that.

cat back means from the last catlyitic converter (reduces emmisions) to the tips. Axle back usualy means that the mufflers are replaced along with minimal piping. Curently there is the comptech catback system which is like 1k, but it is bolton for us. Other custom options for under 600 0are probably the magnaflows which hae to be done by a shop. Alot of people remove the resonanator on the stock exaust to give a deeper thoatier tone. I belive the resonator queits the sound to keep it sounding classy/luxurious.

 

I just whacked the center muffler and got the nice growl ..

 

i was on youtube a while ago and saw some 3rd gen TL with HKS exhaust...wats need to have the same mod? Do i just buy the muffler (shell) ? What parts do i need? and where do i go to get the custom piping done? I am in so cal.
