COMPTECH CLUTCH & FLYWHEEL?
I have an 05' 6dp w/ navi, WDP. I have an aem intake, comptech exhaust, and sun automotives hyper voltage and hyper ground systems. Anyway, I drive it alot and I drive it hard, I already have a burnt-up clutch. Long story short, will the comptech clutch kit for the cl-s 6sp work for my tl. Already tried to get warranty service, but they must think I bought a honda civic cuz' they called it a wearable part like brake-pads and thus cant cover it-BS! By the way they charged 80 bucks to tell me this. I cant bring myself to pay for the same stock clutch, I'd rather buy the heavy-duty comptech one. WILL IT WORK? Please, forum, help me out!

Sorry to burst your bubble...but a clutch IS a wearable part. If you already have a burnt clutch then you do not know how to drive a manual. Sure the clutch will wear out in time, but it should never burn out this quickly.

By the way, I've been on the phone all morning trying to get someone at comptech to tell me what they did for the clutch and flywheel on the tl at 25 hours of thunderhill. I want to know the extent of modification if they wont just fit right on.

According to Acura Carland's part listing, the clutch set for the 2003 CL-S 6 spd. and the 2005 TL 6 spd. is the same part number (207243). The clutch set looks like it consists of the pressure plate and clutch disc. So at least from Acura, the parts are the same.
BTW, I wouldn't blame the dealer for not warrantying the clutch.

Check for yourself. Part # is 22105-PGE-305 for both.

Then how else can you explain the clutch burning out and it hasn't even been 1 year. And then you go and say it's BS that the dealer tells you a clutch is a wearable part. LMAO!!!

I think I read in that 'Thunderhill TL' article that they used a Comptech clutch and flywheel - so it may very well be the same.
Sounds like you need something in your hand and on your car quick. If it were me, I'd order the Comptech one and an OEM one from Acura. That way you can compare them side by side and your sure to have something on hand that will work. You could return the one you don't use.
There is a shop in Florida that did a bunch of second-gen supercharger installs and specialized in 3.2 vtec motors. They may have interchange info. Sorry, but I can't remember the name - but someone in the second gen forums would probably know it.

You could reuse your stock flywheel for a clutch swap.
In the GM world, getting a new clutch if you have <12000 is sometimes possible. It's more of a good will thing.
If you are slipping the clutch alot, like slipping it to like 3k to avoid tire spin, that might be causing the wear.

yeah, I know, but id really like to put the lightened flywheel on while weve got the bell housing out. you know what I mean, while ive got the flywheel exposed and just some bolts away from a little bit faster revving engine. BTW- I ordered the kit and plan to customize the aftermarket flywheel if it doesn't fit. THANKS, FORUM, FOR BACKING ME UP IN MY PROJECT!!! You put my mind at ease!
