Well...it will more than $500. But it should be worth it.

I did a proof on the vid today. It looks really cool. I wish it was going faster but it is going to be a really nice looking vid. Probably will serve as a template for future vids.

All you need to know now is, if you don't care about sound and want pull out of corners, get RV6. If you wanna have max power for drag races and smooth throaty sound all the time, get the ATLP combo we currently sell.
Sorry, I couldn't find any dyno charts... the current atlp v2 produces more power than the rv6v3???

Hmmm full race......... maybe it deletes all the cats

Ok, enough WD MR HT. I may be in the market for a new J-pipe (stupid ladder getting in my way) and maybe the ATLP exhaust. Show me something to prevent me jumping the gun on another product. Something special for S/C guys? I'd even be willing to "lend" you my car to dyno and what not if you'd like.

Hytech takes their time man...I am supposed to get another test part in a few days (for the last 3 weeks). Frustration mounting. I have been here before. It is lame. But...we are on a mission!

Good news is, our RV6 V3 vs ATLP V2 comparo is finally done!

It's the power, and also we are trying to build in some really nice craftsmanship, make the part lighter, and more reliable by eliminating the flex. The materials are higher quality, 100% hand TIG pulse welded, better flanges...the whole 9 yards.

This part will not be for everyone. We are not planning to sell tons of them. We want the BEST j-pipe to be an ATLP part.

Woah tiger...bigger isn't necessarily better.

It is a definitely possibility. We think we might need different spec parts for Base, Type-S, and S/C cars.

Isn't the flex-pipe an important part of the j-pipe? The exhaust needs to flex somewhere. I'd prefer a single flex-joint rather than the two on the RV6 V3 j-pipe, though.

SICK SICK SICK SICK video man....damn that is awesome....

what am about to say is my personal opinion:
1> both the pipes sound HAWT !!!! RV6 has some rasp but is also aggressive !!! ATLP sounds SEXY over the power band !!!

2> RV6's long pipes makes more power where we spend most amount of time (less than 4K rpm)....the ATLP makes more high end power giving you a bigger edge in a run against someone.....

I think XLR8 pipe might benefit from this ordeal....if you look at the RV6 pipe the primaries are very very long hence better low end:

ATLP jpipe (it doesnt delete the 3rd cat) the primaries are shorter and hence more power at higher rpms:

XLR8 pipe meet right in the middle of ATLP and RV6...hence it will be right in the middle....good low end and good high end ???

Having flex in the system is but there are ways of achieving this without a flex pipe.

Very good thinking on this. You can bet on our next round of testing we will have an XLR8 part on hand to compare.

Keep in mind that ALL these pipes have big gains over stock. Power being biased one way or another does not detract from that fact. ATLP V2 and race pipe showed more than 10 ft-lbs gain all over.

^^^ I concur !!!

now if you had an exhaust where the primaries are as long as XLR8 and merge into a 3" collector rather than a 2.5" then the gains are gonna be phenomenal !!! cant wait !!!

^^^ more ???

this is more dramatic than an Indian Drama series which is running since 12 years

i honestly wish i didnt have a true dual....all 3 pipes would have been at my house, gotten dyno's and comparos done....and post a thread up !!! end of drama....

Marcus i think this new ATLP pipe is gonna be pimp....you can use the Lexus punch line "from this pipe forward, there will be no looking back"

i think richard wanted his j pipe to incease power in the low end and midrange on purpose, pretty good idea too because tl drivers like the midrange hp/tq the most..very nice vid tho

@nivekov

This is definitely not the place to post this. Grow up.

Anyhow,

Marcus, that ATLP setup sounds nice. I'm assuming it is non-resonated? Convince me to wait for your next J-pipe. And hurry up.

This may be implied but for clarity, was the ATLP runs using the optional 3rd cat delete described in the video?

not to interfre with the whole purpose of this thread but i ordered a richard wong j pipe and iam almost 100% sure that it will be better than this j pipe since for 1, there is no picture, and 2, you cannot tease grown men. i trust richard's exhaust mods because its that gut feeling i get.

Sorry guys, I called Hytech again yesterday and we still don't have the second proto made (see why I have not been projecting any release dates?).

kingkong, nobody is bagging on RV6s part. But if there is room for improvement, we wanna find it. For the record, we sell ALL the j-pipes out there as we recognize they all have value!

These J pipe wars..lol Its like everyone trying to make a buck, not trying to improve design.

I would love to see a jpipe that incorporated 2 high flow cats, as far from the engine as possible. I wish i could buy some piping runs to bolt to the header (precat delete whatever) then throw 2 cats on, use stock 02's and run a custom exhaust instead of buying a 1k+ new cat back and cutting into it adding a resonator lol.

^^^ thanks for taking my comment in a sporting manner....

now that i read my comment again i think i came across like a douche....sorry about that....

but if you find a good welder/exhaust shop who has experience in Imports, go for it !!! the key words were experience in imports because i got my true dual from a guy who works ONLY on domestics and my 3.2V6 tries to growl like a 5.0V8 but fails terribly LOL....

but the gains are awesome so i cant complain....

HeelToe: Was the test done on an Base TL automatic? Was the comparision done between a 6speed and an automatic? What is suprising is that the Jpipe tested is simular to the Hytech race header tested on my 06 Civic SI. The power is all about high RPM and thus, this is what I wanted for a jpipe and now the wait has finally paid off not buying one til now.

What I would like to see is a Type-S on the dyno with this pipe. Since their cams are a little more aggressive than the base TL's.
