Cold Air Intake
why do you want to upgrade your intake?
the aftermarket ones go for about $150-250 and it wont do anything the stock intake cant do.
the stock intake is very well engineered.
if your budget is under 300, dont buy a intake at all.
save that money for something that's worthwhile.

I also want to upgrade my exhaust, what would you guys recommend I do. Rather not do a full system but maybe straight pipe and some other mods however I've heard the straight pipe on Tls doesn't give you that much hp

straight piping the TL will just net you noise.
UGLY noise.
if you wanted to make your TL growl, delete the mid-muffler and weld on a straight pipe in its place.
an exhaust shop can do this for you.
then if you want you can change out mufflers. magnaflows are pretty popular.
search youtube for "acura TL exhaust stage mods"

I'm going to delete the mid muffler and put in 2.5" straight pipe and then swap the resonator for a Dynomax 24215.
aside from that, What are the more extensive mods that will increase my power?

Cat deletes will provide a nice bump in power. However, if your state does emission testing, you will most likely fail without catalytic converters. Also, you'll increase the likelihood for rasp.
They are bolt on.
however; in my modding experience, you wont likely remove them out of lazyness.
the rear is a bitch!!!
there is another option; the high flow cats.

It will just be louder at WOT. There resonator box is there to reduce noise. Other then make more noise the mod doesn't do anything else, just like an aftermarket CAI.
^the resonator-delete stock air intake mod does bring direct air flow past the filter and into the optimized throttle body.
only doing exhaust mods like; Rv6 pre-cat deletes,xlr8 or RV6 jpipe and exhaust would you gain any thing from the intake side.
even then; there are better wider intakes than the so called "aftermarket" AEM, injen, etc intakes.
after the exhaust side is opened up; work on the intake side!
this includes; building a 4 inch diameter intake from the filter all the way to the throttle body!
this is way better than intakes of the AEM and the like....
wanna go further?

Agreeeee on the Bacon!
OP, search a lot and read, there are tons of threads on here for CAI, I know because I have spent the last two days reading them..
If you find searching here hard go to google and just type in the subject you are looking for and add acurazine at the end, I think I have never used the search function on ANY forum I visit..
Throttle body is big enough for the 4" setup? Didn't know that..
That recommendation is good, I actually built my 3" CAI for my track car myself, spend about 70-80 bucks on parts and took all measurements and came out with a perfect fit..

why not up it to a 4" set up!
and as the person's modding skill increases, one could swap out throttle bodies or get a bored throttle body.
It sounds so bad, straight piping is the worst thing i've ever done to my car i'm dying for an off day to get it fixed
Seriously? that's the main reason why people buy CAI in the first place, to get that sound from the engine. I already have stage 3 exhaust mod done which I love, so I'm looking to improve engine sound now.
GTFOH!!!
lmao.
just like my friend in a civic. BARK BUTT NO BITE!
these 3.7L heads were only $350

and provides a big bump in power and sound!

I repeat, why spend $300 for a CAI when you can build your own for under $100, and the CF looks pretty cool too.
It's not just for the sound either. My intake manifold temps dropped 20° with the CAI and thermoblock spacer.

Yeah, I can buy that, and composites are a PITA. I'm trying to make my dog a toy out of Zylon, but it's not going so well.
It is surprisingly simple to make though. I really wish I made a DIY just to show how easy it is.

Another reason not to diy is that it won't pass the visual for smog tests in California at some shops. Just talked to someone that failed smog because it didn't have a carb sticker on his DIY intake. California sucks that way haha
