Cold Air Intake

Hey guys I want to do some Mods to my car so it wont be boring anymore. I already have Rims and a system. I want to get a Cold Air Intake that I can just install without messing with my computer. Does anyone know where I can find one.

Thanks, Dwight

AEM is the best one. The AEM V2 CAI. You'll love this mod and a pretty easy install.

Do you have any back to back dynos of an AEM to another CAI to prove this? Or are you going by the fact its probably the most popular? The point is you wont be able to tell a +- 1 or 2 whp difference between different intakes.
AEM, Injen, Fujita 5, Takeda are all good intakes and do the same thing.

Exactly. They all do the same thing, are similar in quality and provide similar (read: minor) gains. People hype the V2 a lot around here.

There is a noticeable difference between the different intakes in sound. V2 has a deeper louder sound then the rest. I have the Injen and it still sounds pretty nice and once vtec engages it pulls noticeably harder

How many of you gents are recipients of the characteristic "whine" that is common amoung CAI's?

Check out the other thread on this "whine" issue.

So I'm still learning about all this stuff so forgive me...will the cold air intake increase performance or fuel economy or both?

Theoretically, both...but in practice, just performance...usually.

It really depends how you drive... in our TLS we noticed an improvement in fuel economy as well as a marked increase in throttle response. And this may be a bit off topic, but some designs are better than others... In the Infiniti the dyno ranges from +8 to +18 depending on the brand and design. It may not vary as much on the Acura.

A final note...I think it is pretty tough to do this install without removing the bumper... I did not find that "easy". And, to service the filter you will need to pull the front wheel
