Why is this thing so cheap? Whats wrong with it?

Its cheap because its cheap, i bought one, it works. Comes with a craptastic filter, i think paper towels taped over the tube would be better.

I went back to stock in about 3 days of owning it

 

So I guess it "doesn't" work.....

if it's not Injen, Fujita, or AEM... don't bother

shipping and ebay fees = $9
2 x couplers $1 each
2 x aluminum pipes $2.50 each
1 x filter $5
4 x clamps $0.60 each

yeah if you realized the ebay fees/shipping total what the crap is worth... thats how you make money on ebay

I'm not saying Nsys is better, but Injen doesn't give you that much more. The curved tube may cost more to create, but 7 times? hmm.. I think the Injen is probably engineered better, but its not really worth 250 bux either. So, it's all crazy if you ask me.

That is a piece of shot...hands down

 

ur not paying for a curved piece of pipe. ur paying for the engineering, the dyno testing, the fabrication, and production that went into the making of the part. So unless u want to get all the mandrel bending equipment dyno tuning setup and everything else you would need to make 1 fricken tube yourself, i suggest you stfu and deal with the cost of well made products. there isn't even enough parts out for the car yet for anyone to complain about what is out, IMO

 

ok ok I should have elaborated more... $36 + shipping... is a total overpaying for what you are getting in that listing

I can guarantee you that filter is
1. oil based
2. has cardboard on the inside
3. filters little to nothing
4. falls apart if you drop it
5. will do more harm than good

as for the 90 degree coupler... thats about the only thing that kit comes with thats good

fact is you will be better off making a cold air intake out of plastic tubing, preferably 3.25" and purchasing just an aem filter, which by the way the aem filter alone is $50...

ps. and most importantly... do you see a bracket for that intake... without a bracket you rattle... when aluminum rattles around it makes a really annoying sound...
