to chip or not to chip?

I would like to know if anyone out there has sucessfully 'chipped' their TL. If so, how were the results? What sort of price tag? How tricky to install? Worth the trouble or no?

CHIP!!!!

Red = sarcasm

No chip, but you can do some worth while exhaust mods (pre-cat deletes, RV6 has some new ones out...and the j-pipe upgrade, a few to choose if you want to keep the third cat or RV6 V3 long tube j-pipe which deletes the cat). Or go with a supercharger or turbocharger if you got some $, i recommend the turbo. Or a shot of methanol/nitrous injection. Besides that, maybe shed some pounds and get some good rubber. And also a suspension upgrade. Good luck!

No chip for our car (that works), so to answer your question, don't chip.

yup no chip, just a piggy back. so i recomend getting aem FIC if u plan on tunning however N/A ur not gonna get too much HP from the FIC. i recommend supercharger, turbocharger, or even Nitrous methanol as possibilites.

make sure you get a RWD chip too. It's the best. Chip the car, reset the ECU, and you'll be drifting in no time.

I'll take it easy on you since you're a noob. and you're my fathers age, so I gotta respect you.

the chips are simply a resistor that make your car think it's colder outside and dump more fuel. you're looking at fouled plugs and bad gas mileage for a negligible increase.

the ONLY way to tune your car is with an AEM fuel ignition controller or a greddy e-manage.

if you would like to make your car faster in a straight line without making it sound loud as hell, I suggest getting a richie v6 j-pipe. it replaces a small catalytic converter that isn't even needed to pass emissions. it's solely there to make your Acura have a green sticker on the window for sales.

you can further the gains by getting some pre-cat deletes. these will fail visual Inspection but will not throw a code.
FYi- your car has three (3) catalytic converters. most cars have 1.

I personally suggest getting tires as your first mod. they actually make your car faster and more precise through the turns.

my car is swapped, has headers, intake, a lightweight pulley and weight reduction done to it, I still giggle like a school girl when I take a 35mph turn at 70-80 mph without so much as a squeek from the tires.

goodluck and remember gains are posted as hp to the wheels.
