Anyone know of some cheap mods that will increase HP and make the car sound better?

Going cheap is not always the best thing. Putting a cheap mod on a car might be good for simple looks but performance-wise, I probably wouldn't do it because you risk messing with other mechanical parts and your engine. Cheap parts can cause major problems leading to major spending. However, with that said, how do you define cheap?

cheap??? NOS stickers are known to give you 5 hp each...

i hope you are asking which mods are the best bang for your buck... i never understood why people spend all this money on their cars but won't invest in their mods... you own an Acura, not a Yugo...

but to answer your question, if it isn't a $20 ebay intake you are looking for, i think the next 'cheapest' mod is the 3rd muffler delete... search is your friend...

 

+1 Also depends on what you consider to be cheap ... I would say UR pulley, cai, third muffler delete are all considered somewhat less expensive than other serious additions such as procats, full cat backs or ctsc

if you actually got 5 hp out of a mod chip then they'd be a pretty good investment

 

Performance isn't all about Horse Power. Check out the Progress RSB; great "bang for the buck".

HP-wise on the cheap, I'd say CAI; add the P2R TB Spacer for a few more $$ and a few more HP.

You've got alot to learn kid if you really think you can get 5hp out of a $30 potato chip. A cold air intake will barely get you 5hp.

 

you know the cheapest mod is taking off weight, meaning go take a diet, YOU or the CAR, every pound helps, thats by far the cheapest i can think off (1 less hamburger a week) or your jack/spare wheel off?? just throwing idea off my head.

Making the car faster doesn't mean just adding power.
btw becoming a better driver also helps such as launching.

 

Do some free stuff, remove weight. Look at the TL on a diet thread to see some ways to reduce weights.

There is also the Rear Sway bar, which improves handling.
UR underdrive pulley, helps the motor rev up faster
P2R Spacers, keep the motor cooler for more power
AEM Cold Air Intake, gives off great sound and a little more punch (hp)
