well you cant change the vtec unless you get a ECU...

even then changing it wont help as much as it only flattens out the torque curve....you will only gain a few TQ numbers at 4500-4700 rpm, thats it....the rest of your curve will remain unchanged....

even with full bolt ons it wont help much....

and i supposed you want it to engage AFTER 4700 rpm and not at 2000 rpm....

So how can you boost the torque up since changing the Vtec engagement doesn't help much as all?

I remember Rodney posting a video some time back when they were testing the VTEC engagement point....with the graphs and changing the vtec, the only difference was at the dip @ 4500-4700 rpm.....

if you want more TQ, you will have to do some mods, I dont think changing the VTEC alone will help you with anything more than 2-3TQ...

Rodney has played with the vtec engagement points, and found that lowering the vtec engagement from 4700RPM to 4k, the torque curve isnt flat.
While changing it to 5k RPM you get a solid straight torque band.

Acura changed the vtec engagement point for the TL-s', to, you guessed it, 5k RPM.

in other words, our six cylinder is not like any 4 cylinder in terms of gaining power by lowering vtec.
so should I reflash with a 5,000 rpm engagement instead of 4700? Thank you
