CEL eliminator

whats the best one? my 3rd cat is getting cut out tomorrow iv seen a few universal eliminators but don't know what to pick. Let me know what you have and if it works. Also will it make the car run rich.(I'm totally new and couldn't find any threads about this, redirect me if i'm wrong.)

If you're talking about a defouler, you don't need one when eliminating the third cat. The third cat isn't monitored. It's just a ULEV thing Honda gets into so they come across as more appealing to the tree huggers.

On the third cat, yes. Only the two primary cats are monitored with o2 sensors.

Anx is correct.
We have three catalytic converters.
the third one can be removed without any draw backs

thanks very much, i was just about to order one.anyone of you know how much hp you actually get out of this? Even if its only 5hp its worth it for 50 bucks.

probably even less than that.
if you're going through all this trouble....
Minus whale, just buy an aftermarket Jpipe that removes the third cat.
you'll pick up at least 10horsies.

My last car dynoed at 99whp. I was pissed I couldn't have come up with another whp. While you will never notice it in power terms, for me it is worth it because every whp counts. and 2whp for $40 is actually pretty good, thats better than most mods.

Yeah it is close and you could round up, but it isn't 100whp, it's 99whp. That stock on me for a long time.

Idk about you guys but if I ever dynoed 299whp I would be very angry I didn't hit 300whp. Just my

or you forgot to change your vtec oil?
or the EGR got blocked and prevented that 1hp?
if I dyno'd that 299, I will damn well call it 300.

Thats you though. I would always have it in the back of my mind that I'm not 300whp, and that I should have done such and such to get there. If it is a dyno error then that is out of my control, and i'm at peace with that so long as I did everything I could to maximize power output. This is obviously a matter of different oppinions.

well my 3rd cat was on its way out and the stench was starting to get to me so i ended up paying 50 to have a pipe welded in the place of the 3rd cat witch was most deffinateley the smarter decision compared to buying a new cat and after scrapping the the 3rd one it ended up being a 20 dollar mod. and also it really added a much deeper tone to my exhaust.

and to that smartass if your calling me an noob and saying i dont know anything id like to know what you have, right now im PCD, ATLP jpipe, to 2.5, to magnaflow resonator, to custom 2.5 y pipe i had made up, to magnaflow race series stainless mufflers.
