CEL code w/ high flow cat

Let me first apologize to those who have read the answer to this in another thread...its 20 to midnight, work early morning and i tried to search only but to get 10 pages worth of threads!

I purchased two mufflers from borla and a high flow cat...my ? is, the guy custom fabricating my catback exhaust said there won't be any check engine codes if he replaces the catalytic converter, i would just like to confirm that this is true? I have an 06 TL. Thanks in advance!

Not if he changes the last one (Under the car), it doesn't have any O2 sensors. The other 2, on the other hand (in the engine compartment, right next to the front and rear cylinder banks) do have sensors. Besides, changing catalytic converters shouldn't cause a CEL unless they are bad anyways.

Just keep in mind that high flow cats are not very efficient in emmisions so if you are in a state that requires smog, you take the risk of failing.
