Bypass valve

Hey guys, I ordered my AEM cai and should be getting it soon. I'm just curious of a few things about possibly ordering the bypass valve. Btw... I tried searching for this, but came up with nothing! First, is it worth gettin? And second, I would need the 3" diameter I believe, is this correct? Thanks guys!

I heard people say it is useless. If yoru gonna suck up water its gonna do it regardless of the "bypass valve" or not. Some people said its even more dangerous because of the material the bypass is made up of would damage your engine more than water would.

I have a bypass valve installed with mine for 3+ years and I never had an issue either way. I have always believed in them ever since I saw the AEM video where they put they submerged their intake to a NSX into a fish tank and revved like hell. It made a believer out of me but that video has to be 7+ years old.

bypass valve is very bad. First of all it can break apart over time and be sucked up by your motor. As well the filtration of that valve probably won't be as good as the filter on the CAI thus letting in a ton of dirt to scratch up the block...

I know that. It can be used as a universal application

Yeah, there's no AEM bypass for us. Our pipe is 3.25" and the biggest bypass they make is 3". I was kind of unsure of getting it either way. AEM just helped me decide!

Hey I just bought a red AEM CAI for my 08 tls too... After a lot of research and good reviews I found that the INJEN HYDROSHIELD works wonders. Check it out... I bought one from Autoanything.com for $24 incl shipping. Btw the hydroshield size for AEM dryflow filter is medium.... Good Luck
