Build a custom intake using stock parts

So i wanted to keep my stock air box. mainly because its still under warrenty and if you look at the engine it still looks stock. i removed the bumper and then the stock intake from the air box down(resonator and pipes). i cut off the pipe from the resonator up to the stock box using a dremel. using the short piece of pipe from in front of the battery i attached that to this pipe by using the rubber connector that held the piece in from of the battery to the piece at the bottom that runs long ways.
i then used long zip ties to make sure everything stays connected and mounted the new pipe (using old pipes) to the car with a bracket. and just to get more air in there i also cut away some of the plastic behind the factory lower grill. Now just drop in a k&n air filter in the stock box and you are done!

No more resonator and hot engine air with a stock look.

Stock box with pipe cut off

cut off piece with rubber connector on. the upper one is to the factory box and the lower is from the piece by the battery

piece from in front of the battery. this just pulls off easily

All mounted up (notice the cut out behind the grill)

Anyway to do this without removing the bumper? And what air filter are you using?

All he did is remove the resonator. The airbox is intact.

Why do you want to do this without removing the bumper? It takes all of 10 minutes.

I just got my 07 Type S and new to Acura. Evnash said above he removed his bumper to do this. The heat here in NY is keeping me from tackling this right now.
