Broke push rivets in wheel well liner
I was installing my AEM CAI last weekend and everything went fine except for one little problem. I broke 3 of the push rivets inside the front drivers side wheel well liner. I put a strip of duct tape on them for now to prevent water and dirt from going inside but would I be able to order more of these things?? ask the dealer? (just make sure not to mention the CAI...)
This wheel well liner was the only difficult thing I came across when doing the install. It was such a pain in the ass... but in part cause it was cold outside when I was doing it and I got frustrated.
Is the proper way to remove those just by prying up with a flat head screw driver?

I did mine in the freezing cold also. I broke 2 or 3 of them, and I used a flat head and needle nose plyers. I just went into the dealer and picked up ten of them because I am convinced some of them will break every time I take it apart to clean the filter. The dealer didn't ask why, he just grabbed a bunch.. They obviously break all the time for them to have 100 plus in stock.

Great I'll do that.
How about the coolant?
Would the dealer be an 'ok' place to get some replacement coolant for what I lost from the install? I read in the manual that it has to be Honda... but that could be a bit biased.

One on the right for me
There is a actually a tool that you can buy to take them out so they don't break. Its a waste of money.
You can try a body shop, usually they have a tub of them and just match the ones that fit. Body shops tend not to charge for those either - though they usually only run about 5 cents each.

Unless you lost a ton of coolant, water should be fine.

I figured out the push rivets doing my CAI this past weekend.
You have to actually twist the rivet head away from the base with a flathead screwdriver.
Once you've seperated the inner rivet from the sheath about 1/4 inch or so, the whole rivet comes out pretty easily...I almost destroyed 2 of them, too.
I recommend disassembling the two pieces and inserting the base 1st when re-installing. the inner rivet slides right in when done this way.
I have freaking hated plastic rivets on cars since I installed my first stereo 15 years ago!!!

Now the ones on the inside of the trunk. Dont take those out when its cold outside. Those break and they dont sell them at autozone.
I would recommend getting little parts from https://www.acuraparts247.com/sunnyside but their website went down over the weekend. I dunno.
