do the 04-06 TL, MT use the same calipers as the tl-s?

Rotors on the MT TL = All TL-S (all 4 corners)

04-08 rear is the same... Might even date back further and the rears are the same since 99 but don't quote me on that

 

so if they are the same does that mean if a specific wheel fit an 04-06 TL MT, it will also fit the 07TL-S?

 

all rims from all tl's have the same offset for brembos or no brembos..... same goes for the rl..... they save money making the rims that way and makes life easier when interchanging. so u can take the rims from an 04 and put them on an 08 type s no probs...but why would u? lol the other way around sounds better.

 

i was talking about aftermarket wheels...i am interested on the stern hyper silvers..when i called the company they told me they don't clear the brembos and that i will need spacers..but a few members on acurazine have those wheels installed on an 04TL MT and 06 tl MT with no spacers..so if that's the case and if those cars are using the same brembos as the tl-s i don't see why those wheels would not clear my tl-s..

 

this is indeed a factual statement... same brakes, same wheels clear

as for the specific wheel you are inquiring about, make sure you get the very same offset those members who have the wheels on have gotten, good luck

 

for the purposes of buying aftermarket wheels- there is only 1 brembo front brake size on a TL- if the wheels wont clear brembos without spacers- then you have a choice to make- use spacers or get different wheels

The rotor itself is 1 inch larger diameter and the calipers are way bigger physical dimensions than a regular TL
Thats why they dont clear some wheels

 

01 u forgot 1 other thing....the brembo rotor is also moved back about an inch or more on the hub to suit the caliper.
