Brake Pads

I have an issue with my 07 TL AT brakes. They are mushy and not very powerfull without a large amount of pedal pressure.

I have gone to the dealer and they do not see an issue. I have also tested another 07 TL with comparable milage and it was the same. We did have a 06 for about 3 days and I do not remember the brakes being this bad.

I was thinking that new pads would help with this in some way. So am now trying to find new pads that may fit the TL that will be good for everyday driving. I am looking for recommendations from those that have installed pads with the stock rotors. I am also wondering if the pads for the 06 TL will fit the 07 TL as not many sites have the updated information for 07.

i just upgraded my front stock pads to hawk hps street compound. they do have better bite and feel than the stock pads and i bet it would be even better with upgraded brake lines. still running the stock rotors too. check the market section u can get the entire setup from the vendors.

You need SS Brake lines. That will get rid of that mushy feel. Do you have an A/T or M/T? In other words do you have the Brembo setup?

I have an 04 with factory pads and the brakes are very touchy. They brake like they did on day one and are very responsive. It is an AT and everything is stock in reguards to brakes. I think you just might need the systme bled out for bubbles and such. Also brakes tend to be mushy for the first 500 miles due to a coating put on them to ensure a proper bed in.

I have 1700 miles on the car and have done two bed in sessions as I have read on threads here. The perfromance is better when hot but I do not want to heat up my brakes every time I go out driving.

The 06 that we had for a week did not have the same feel so it seems that they have changed something between 06 and 07.

My other car is a 06 BMW 325 and that stops very well.
