Brake Mistake?

It's time for brakes and I'm being a little cheap so I found these and just ordered. Does anyone have any experience with Power Stop good or bad?

I think most people are tired of talking about subjects like this that are covered to death. Another issue is cheaping out on the most important system on the car, the brakes. If you are willing to risk your life and that of others with cheap brakes than so be it. I know you are a new member but, buying a luxury car and trying to save money by using inexpensive parts is a bad idea.

To be fair, one can spend quite a range of dollars on brakes for our cars with very little impact on safety. I don't think it's unreasonable to inquire about the possibility of getting similar performance from something less expensive.

That being said, I don't have any experience with the product in this thread, but a search might turn something up.

Power Stop was fairly decent years ago; I'm not sure if this is the same company. They also fell pretty hard years ago and I haven't heard much about them since.

We've had great experiences with Power Slot/STOPTECH. We even offer brake packages for Acuraziners.

It seems to me that there are a lot of subjects covered to death. Sometimes it's nice to see if there has been recent experience with certain products. Second, I don't think that I'm risking anyones life by buying a name brand brake so settle down.

These might be the same offered by brakemotive. I sure the pads are the same brand, maybe the rotors too.. for much less.

I realize you've already invested in this, but just as an FYI I purchased most of my upgrade parts from Excelerate: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/performance-brake-upgrade-cheap-sorta-807814/

I have Power Stop rotors on my TSX. I purchased them about two years ago and they are great. After two years, there is no rust on the hubs and they still have great stopping power. People can knock the company all they want saying "they are cheap" or "you get what you pay for", but these rotors have performed exceptional over the time I've had them and when it's time to replace them, I'll be getting another set.

are the hubs painted?

i cant believe they are not rusted after 2 years of brutal NY weather unless they are painted or powder coated

Nope. The way I got them, was the way I installed them. No paint on the hubs. Just the rust prevention thing that they put on all their rotor hubs.

Granted they don't look brand new, but if you were to see them, you would think they're only 2 or 3 months old at best.

Like I said before, they're great rotors. I have to admit, I was skeptical at first but I'm a believer now.

Thats also good to hear, I'm in CT so I deal with the same CRAPPY winter mess. I ordered these brakes because they seemed like a pretty good price and I'd like to put some $$ towards Jpipe etc. Oh yeah, I had to buy a rim as I bent one driving through NY. I have to say the roads down there are :thumbsdow
