BOV on CT supercharger?

i really dont know much about superchargers/turbos except that they increase airflow and boost power to 40+ HP at the wheels (ive never installed one or driven a car that had boost) , butt is it possible to add a blow off valve onto a comptech supercharger?

superchargers dont use a blow off valves only turbos because the turbine on the turbo keeps spining even when your not on the gas and to get the right amount of boost without blowing a motor you need the valve. where as the super charger is driven by the crank as well superhcargers dont produce nearly as much psi as a turbo can

EvanJ5 hit the nail on the head
Superchargers do not require a blowoff valve, its all in the turbo's which require a blow off

If you guys really want to install a BOV on a supercharger for no other reason than "the noise", just buy this.

Seriously...
Go trade your TL in for 1.8T Jetta if that's what you want.

No...
It'll likely never happen.

J32/J35 engine is highly tuned as is, and has a weak bottom end. Comptech SC only pushes 4psi of boost for a reason. You want a turbo pushing 18 lbs boost throught he motor will send a rod throgh the oil pan. To do a turbo right on the L virtually requires a new engine. Lower compression pistons, stronger rods, stronger main shaft, bolts, etc...

Supercharger has something a turbo don't... whine.

The grass is always greener eh?

WHY?? im so tired of hearing that stupid whistle sound too. if i owned a turbo, id put in a recirculating BOV.

for every 20 cars i hear with a BOV, i hear 1 with a roots charger whine and its usually a svt cobra..

Pete I think your broken hand has spread to your brain... First flame throwing exhaust... Now bov on s/c... What's next... Neon lights

Just busting your balls... But honestly some things should be done to provide a performance gain... Bov on s/c yields no gains... Cancelling its function...

Just a side note: The Comptech S/C Kit adds 65-80whp for the 3rd gen TL.

A lot more than a bolt on turbo. They built that engine from the ground up... You don't those kind of numbers on the stock J32 internals.
