Base to Type S question

Base to Type S question
I got type s quad tips welded onto my base TL. The tips were welded onto base TL mufflers because the person I bought them from originally purchased them from a type s owner. So he got them welded onto his base mufflers...
So got the mufflers and tips welded onto my car today and theyre sitting kind of funny. They are angled outwards slightly. I told the guy I wanted them straight and he said its because of the way the tips are welded on the mufflers already. When I told him to weld them onto my original mufflers he said it wouldnt make a difference because neither mufflers are type s mufflers. Doesnt seem to make sense to me. Can someone give me some input?
heres a picture, notice how left side seems angled out more than right side.
Let me know what you guys think... It is more noticeable in person

^i dunno.
maybe go back to the same place but get someone who knows what the hell they're doing.
OP, i wouldn't have even drove off the lot.
my reaction would have been something like..."woah woah that is not correct at all. see how the tips are angled out and not symmetrical? i need this corrected before i leave today"
\end scene/

im so annoyed that i left now. he told me to come back monday. my friend knows the guy who did it so it shouldnt be a problem.
^^^^^ and yea im def not paying more money
and besides the fact that the left is angled more, theres no reason that they cant be put on straight, correct??

was kind of confused but seemed like he said that when he put one side in it was straight, but then when he put the other side in and connected the two it caused them to angle out. I could have misunderstood but thats what it seemed like. didnt want to make a huge deal in front of my friend since he referred me to the guys, but ill get it straightened out one way or the other

also have a resonator and he said he couldnt put it in because the opening was too wide? bought the resonator from the same guy who sold me the quad tips and he had the resonator on his TL. little nervous that this guy didnt know what he was doing.... replaced the mid muffler with straight pipe tho and I like the sound anyway
lolll i know its crooked and im def gettin it fixed, but does it really look THAT bad

^its wrong. I think its upside down. or flipped.
sounds like your welder doesnt know his arm from his dick.

hahhaaaa legit laughed out loud.... this is bad
he replaced my mid muffler with a straight pipe, sounds good I like it a lot. nothing crazy just a tiny bit more aggressive. is there any chance this guy could really fuck something up? like a bad weld?

truee truee, alright thanks for your help man. is it true that after a couple years a weld can start to wear out and cause a leak?
and also, there is a tinyyyyy bit of drone, doesnt bother me at all. but would the dynomax resonator reduce that? (my stock resonator is still on there)

anyone know of anything I can do to get rid of the drone? had the mid muffler replaced with straight pipe (this is stage 1 right??) and there is some drone. would replacing the stock resonator with a dynomax resonator help with drone? (which would then make it stage 3 right??)

keep it clean
It looks like either the left and right mufflers need to be switched or both need to be flipped. Also, you mentioned that the tips were welded onto base mufflers, which doesn't sound right to me. The stock type-s mufflers have two pipes exiting the muffler, and the base only has one. Did the shop weld one straight to the muffler? I'm use to seeing base TL owners weld on tips that go from one to two, like it did. Hope you get it resolved for free!
I had the mid muffler deleted too and I don't have any issues with drone. At what RPM are you getting drone? However, to answer your question, yes a resonator will help to mitigate the drone.

As for the drone, it comes as I accelerate from a stop. so at low speeds then fades away. I deff dont like it.

heres the ones I bought... I knew they were angled like that which was why I told the guy before it that I wanted them welded on straight and not like they are angled. but he said he could not do it unless I had type s mufflers....

but if they were upside down, if i flip them over, that means they would have to switch sides (in order to keep the longer pipe in the middle). so if they just flipped sides, wouldnt they still just points outwards? or no?

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but OP u said you managed to weld on your OEM type s tips onto your muffler of your base TL? Can you explain how did you do that. I went to my muffler shop and asked could they weld my type s tips onto a magnaflow muffler and the guy said it couldn't be done because since the tips are built into the stock muffler. Thanks!
