Automatic Transmission Cooler

I was wondering if anyone has first hand experience with an AT transmission cooler for the 3rd Gen TL. I saw in the Hondata Reflash thread, a link to comptech, but if didn't work. I also saw something about an auxiliary ATF cooler. I was wanting to purchase one to (possibly) prolong the life of the tranny. Thanks for any input!

One member installed one a year or two ago - can't remember his username but a search might turn something up.

Hello:

I had a tranny cooler installed about two years ago.

The car is SC and I have not had any issues with the tranny.

So what does the cooler really help with? Longevity of our Tranny?

It prolongs the life of the fluid which will prolong the life of the trans. In extreme conditions it will reduce overheating of the trans which can kill seals, clutches and just about anything the fluid touches. In normal use, seals (internal) will last longer with a cooler.

After a short drive, mine is too hot to touch.
