Attention: Supercharger Issue. Please Read.

Yesterday I popped the hood to monitor the supercharger unit.

I discovered the Comptech supplied bracket had flexed. This bracket is supposed to keep this hose away from the shaft pulley and belt. The pulley was actually rubbing the hose could have potentially burned through if I hadn't checked it.

Fix: Drill a screw on the vertical flange to insure more support.

Problem Solved.

I've got over 55,000 miles on my 5AT tranny. Thus far its been a fantastic transmission.

However, last night under WOT the transmission failed to shift from 2nd to 3rd until i let off the throttle.

The Comptech mid pipe is the term I named for my custom exhaust setup. I used to have the full comptech cat-back. I decided to cut it before the split to make it a single outlet.

ACCURATEin- I would let them know regardless so that they can look into this and maybe make a better bracket or some other type of attachment.

Thinking about taking the leap myself. I was quoted a price of $6,200 and am just wonding if that is a fair price? If I take the plunge, I'm going to mention the flex issue up front so maybe they can build a bracket at that time.

How does it idol in traffic?

I'm late to the thread but I just checked mine and it flexes a little but I still have about 1/4" of clearance. I'm still going to put a screw in it though.

Supercharger is a BEAST! Still running.

Just wanted to let you guys know i've got a notch in the radiator hose where is has been coming in contact with the blower unit. For those with the supercharger, check your radiator hose where it touches the charger and see if there is a notch.

Huh little late in the sc game but need to check.

Is it just me or does the belt make more noise as time goes on?

Also I am suprised how much heat this thing puts out. I might look into some sort f custom hood.

tensioner rattle???

WOW, this thread was dormant for over 2 years!!! hahahaha

I hope all boosted guys are tapped into this;

Anyone get tensioner pulley rattle/chirping noises? It only happens when it's warm out and the engine bay is heat soaked, while the car is idling in gear (like at a stop light) it gets louder when large loads like the air conditioner or power steering come on. I throw the P brake and jump out to check it out and the tensioner vibrates like crazy. I had the dealer replace it once, but it was doing it again, five minutes later!
I't only rattles with the gatorback, though. I tried dropping down half an inch on belt size, with a gates belt; it never rattled, but it began squeaking after a few hundred miles....so I chucked it! The gatorback never squeaks (hence "the quiet belt") but it makes the tensioner rattle. I tried the comptech prescribed size and I currently have one half inch smaller installed....but the rattle is still around.

Good info Lunecy!

I've got an idle rattle when its in gear, so it could be exactly what you're describing. Also have the belt squeek with the new belt i'm running.

what belt is that? size? I also had a mileage maker for a while, at first, but it began squealing after approx 1k miles. I think all the belts with continous ribs end up squealing....but the gator w/ the ribs all cut up make it rattle??? dunno, but it's my 2 cents. Overall, I don't think it's a serious problem, just an annoying sound for us.
