ATLP resonated vs. non-resonated Exhaust

Does anyone have an ATLP resonated exhaust? I'd like to hear some sounds clips to compare the two. Ideally i'd like to minimize cabin drone yet retain the performance of the ATLP exhaust. I've read of some ziners installing a resonator onto their ATLP. Any have sound/vid clips? Thanks

There really isn't much performance difference as it is a straight thru design, theoretically you might gain couble lbs tq over the non-res

Bmping up this very old thread haa. I am curious as to how much drone the resonated ATLP exhaust produces. I cant stand drone, but the sound of the ATLP exhaust is insanee

there is little to no drone with the resonated atlp base exhaust i have.
it was non resonated but after the HFPCs and supercharger were installed it got way too loud (but i do miss it).
I had a vibrant resonator installed, quiet when just cruising around town but still roars when i floor it

yea, but those are just good for hearing how the exhaust sounds, not drone. IMO at least.

okay, thanks a lot. this is prob a noob question but, if I get the resonated version, what kind of resonator does it have? are there better resonators than the one it comes with?

Are you running the factory Jpipe? Im currently have Richie's HFPCs, and v-3 jpipe on stock cat back. I would like to pick up a resonated base ATLP exhaust but I'm worried about the drone since I do mostly highway driving. If anyone has this set up, I would appreciate any insight.

If you are worried just a little then its not for you believe me !! I bought it and it put a smile on my face for about half the day, after i was done playing around i started to realize the consequences i was about to deal with . Having the radio on was pointless as you couldnt hear anything, the drone is not pleasant at all when driving around. It will give you headache. You cant talk to people inside the cabin, it is that loud annoying. The powerband shifts to the upper range so it will feel weaker at the bottom. I took it off after the fourth day i believe and then sold it. Right now i have the comptech exhaust with HFC and v3 JPipe. No drone at all, its loud enough, the only thing is that it doesnt have that deep tone of the ATLP. But i think the reason that its not a deep tone in my case is mainly because of the HFC...

it wasn't loud to the point where i couldn't talk to anyone in the cabin but it was pretty loud non-resonated.
i still love my ATLP, end of story.
i don't think anyone opinion will make much of a difference since it's all preference. we don't know how much drone you can tolerate, what you consider too loud.
if it's too loud, slap another bigger resonator on it.

At highway speeds there's always a little something to remind you it's there but it's nothing terrible. I personally love it.

I have an RV6 V3 j-pipe and an ATLP Base resonated exhaust.

I noticed more sound/drone at lower rpms (less than 3000) and less sound at higher rpms.

However, I can still listen to my music just fine.

I recommend you get the exhaust with the resonator since you are concerned about drone.

I was looking at the comptech exhaust but was hoping I could just go with a resonated ATLP and not get to much drone. When you had your exhaust, was it resonated?

Ive seen quite a few of your youtube video and love the sound! I noticed your non-resonated and not running HFPCs.

Thats true about adding another resonator, but I would like to not modify the exhaust if I don't have to.

Ill 100% be picking up an exhaust with a resonator. Do you have a sound clip of your exhaust? I would love to hear someone's with the exact set up that I'd have.

Thank you sir! Yeah I have quite a few videos on YouTube showing off the exhaust. Here's my setup:

ATLP V2 J-Pipe, ATLP Race Pipe, ATLP non-resonated Base Catback.

NO modifications to the cats.
