I am actualy looking for an update on the quad tip for the type s bumper, I think the base system is going to be a single tip.

I ordered mine about 9 weeks ago (at which point Mike had just sold his last one), along with the J-Pipe. I've been in pretty steady communication with Mike over the last many weeks, understanding that he has run into a couple of delays which have been out of his control.

Since the J-Pipes are now shipping, I am hoping too that the exhausts are ready. Hopefully for your sake he has produced a few extras for those people that are now placing orders.

Looking forward to making some noise really soon!!

Hi Speed et al -- you going the route of the A-Spec lip or doing the full TL-S bumper? Although a bit more expensive (I believe), I am doing the full bumper simply because I have never been sold on the appearance of the lip -- just personal preference, of course.

I figure, once I receive confirmation of the ATLP shipment, I'll have enough time to order, pick-up and paint the new bumper before Mr. FedEx arrives at my door. I'm hoping for some good news from Mike soon!!

I was thinking the exact same thing. I will be paying the $770 to get the full type-s rear bumper from Acura and have it painted. I figured the same thing, once I got my tracking # for the exhaust I would buy the bumper and have it painted. I agree the add on lip does look tacked on. I am not running a body kit on my car so it would look even worse. I looked at a company on ebay that sold the bumpers painted but they wanted to ship by grayhound bus and I had to pick it up at the station within so many hours. Sounded retarded so I am buying it from Acura and having it painted $350 to paint,$320 for the bumper, and $100 for the finishing pieces that go around the exhaust openings.

$350 seems high to me for paint, but that is probably explained by having it quoted at your Acura dealership. You may want to shop around a bit.

My best price, at a decent paint/body shop in my area, is $175. This price covers painting the bumper assuming I carry it in. They wanted closer to $290 if they painted it on the car, as they would "guarantee" a more perfect colour match by blending in the rear fenders (ie. painting), if required. I'm willing to take my chances on colour as I don't want them touching what isn't broken. I have also considered removing my current bumper and providing it to the paint shop at the same time they are painting the new one, helping to ensure a good match.

It's been too long since I had the bumper quoted at Acura but your prices sound about right -- especially the cost of those damn finishing pieces! I vaguely remember them being nearly the price of the bumper. I guess everyone is out to make a buck!!


Mike -- Any news on the ETA for the system? I would hate to be forced into trying out your J-Pipe without the full system installed!!

I wasn't talkin about fitting issuses with the bumper... I was talking about the routing of the pipes.

I already spoke to mike. I will be sending my deposit this monday in for it. As far as the bumper goes I am just going to buy the Aspec lip for the type-s with the bumper grill and fabricate something up with my stock bumper.

I got the quote from a place called Bumbers Express, they do mobile bumper repair. The guy said he would paint and install it, so I might go that way. I would never even inquire about the price from the dealership to paint the bumper. As far as painting the part on the car, that sounds crazy. I have seen it done to rental car but the risk of over spray seems unacceptable.
