There will be a resonator available soon.

I'm sure you can put universal silencers on it, but that would just ruin the look as well as the sound.

If your going to do it, make sure you mask of the tips in a straight circumference. They have this stuff called "Heat Reistant" or "High Heat" at pepboys or home depot that is usually used to paint outdoor grills. I'd go with a flat black.

This is how I did it.

Take of the factory muffler that bolts off by itself. Then unbolt the 3 nuts that attach to the cat. Lube up all the hangers with WD-40. Slide the exhaust system forward or back and try to slide the hangers out of the rubber holders. Don't let the exhaust fall on your head. =)

The resonator makes it a bit quieter. Not as much as a silencer will make it, but a noticeable amount without robbing any power.

This system fits both. Although trimming of the bumper is required unless you already have the TL-S A-spec kit, or bumper. There are multiple threads showing how it's done.

I have one question I plan on putting my exhaust on after work, I guess I need to reuse the gasket between the cat and the new pipe supplied, if there even is a gasket there I dunno yet...

All the necessary gaskets are included. One between the midpipe, and one on each side behind the mufflers. There is no gasket used for the cat-back to the cat.

Look who's in the club!

Please ignore and forgive the filth. I spent my car wash time installing this equipment. It's gonna rain tommorrow anyway.

Quick notes.
PERFECT INSTALL. Everything lined up like factory equipment. I've bolted on 14 plus different exhaust systems to 14 plus different cars over the years, and I've never bolted one on that lined up this cleanly. no second adjustments, no misalignments. Bolt it on, tighten it up, done.
It was harder getting the Comptech off, than getting this one on.

UNBELIEVEABLE WORKMANSHIP. Overengineered design, thick, quality stainless flanges, beautiful clean welds, solid tubing, BEAUTIFUL TIPS. Etching may be a "bit" much for me, but I'm not mad about it.

SOUNDS INCREDIBLE. I'm only gonna say this once. ATLP is has LESS DRONE than my old Comptech. Yes. It is true, having tested them back to back. It has a clean, even sound that stays consistent throughtout the rpm band. It doesn't seem to have a resonation point either (that certain rpm where the drone gets really loud and resonates throughout the cabin). IT'S NOT TOO LOUD ON THE 3.2L. IN FACT IT'S ABOUT PERFECT. No need for a resonated version for us non TL-S guys. Seriously, and I'm picky about this issue. I KNEW that Greddy was gonna be loud based on my expereince with Comptech. I was worried about thsi one... I'm not anymore. OK, I'll say it again. My old Comptech was LOUDER than my ATLP... and my ATLP does not drone at 2300 rpm like CT did. OK, enough said. I'm excitied about this finding if you can't tell.

LOOKS F$CKING AWESOME. We've known that though.

I'm 1000% satisfied Mike. One of my favorite mods so far. I'm even more pumped for that J-pipe now, if the level of quality I expereinced today is reflected in that product.

Anyone on the fence... It's worth the effort to hack up your rear end, but the TL-S lip, and bolt this bitch on. This is the exhuast for the TL...

More notes after I put some miles on, and try a few WOT runs.

^^ glad to see you finally got it on... looks just like my car from the back, except your tips have cooler etching

im also glad to hear you like the sound.. i love the sound on my TL-S, but it does drone in the mid 2k rpm range... and when i compared it back to back with my comptech, the comptech was quieter... wonder if it has anything to do with the engine size? i honestly felt like this exhaust was better built then the comptech too.

yea im 100% with kennedy on the quality build. ive seen lots of exhausts, and this one definitely was built above and beyond my standards... no misalignment problems either... quick install....

kennedy, how long you had it on? i noticed mine kind of "broke in" and "quieted down" after about....3 - 4 weeks (1500~ miles)

Mike, your products have definately spoken to me. Again, I couldn't be more pleased. Consider me a forever customer if this the quality I can expect in your other products.

Haha... Al knows. I'm a descerning and vocal critic for shure, andf it gets my stamp of approval, it's legit. Blower install is hung for a bit, I gotta get these cats out, and Royce Han is working with me to replace my hand polished manifold. We're doing a little something different... It's top secret though. It's been 8 months in the making, but we're close now.

Whitecura, I've had it installed for about 12 hours now...
Seriously though, after removing the Comptech and installing the ATLP in the same day, I can definatley say the ATLP is less droney. You're comparing the Comptech on your old 3.2L and the ATLP on the new 3.5L, not exactly apples to apples.

I can only assume the 3.5L combined with the ATLP is significantly noisier than than when on the 3.2L. Needless to say, Mike's onto something good, and if he finishes up the new tips for the base rear end, he'll have created the perfect system for folks that don't wanna hack up thier rear bumper.

Dan... I know dude. I've been scheduled 3 times to go to my buddies shop to get some lift time, and he cancelled on me all 3 times for paying customers. Imagine the nerve... If I don't gt it done this week, I may just try to pull em myself in the driveway, as much as it pains me to consider that option. I pulled the third cat with the exhaust, and it's in GREAT shape. Want me to send you that one?

Nah... I've never bought into that "reset the ECU" crap. The engine adjusts to it's newfound breathability in a few miles. Pulling the battery ain;t gonna get ya more power.

Thank you for clarifying on the sound difference between Comptech and ATLP. Now I need to know performance difference, if they're any.

+1

EXACTLY. i dont know why people insist on dissconnecting the battery or unplugging the ecu either. it usually takes about 200 miles or so, before mine gets back to where it was. its a self learning ecu, instead of learning 1 new mod, unplugging it would force it to learn all your mods over again, which takes much longer.

The tips are meant to fit the Type-S TL, which has wider exhaust opening. The Base TL is barely holds two 2.75" tips, the tips are 3.5" each. Anything smaller it will look like a pee shooter machine gun.

Spain can wait.

Just kidding. Exhaust - 1 left. J-pipe - none, only taking orders for the second batch now.

For those of you who fit this exhaust on a 2004-2005 by cutting the rear bumper and fitting the 2007 aspec lip over it ..... do you have any pics of how the bumper looked with the cuts.

How much did you need to cut as well (i.e. one inch on each side)?

Im trying to get a feel of how the RJ rear bumper may look with some trimming to make it fit.

This is the Quad exhaust, which requires bumper mods on the Base model. He's waiting on the single tips for the system which'll bolt right up with no bumper mods necessary.
