So i was wondering, from a scale of 1 - 10, how hard is it to install the j-pipe?? Because i was thinking of putting the stock pipe back on when it's time to smog...

Not hard at all. I believe it's 3 bolts by the cat, and 3 bolts to each of the j-pipe runners. Only thing is that you will need lots of WD-40...lol

Considering ditching the 3rd cat gains about 3HP, if that, I'm not sure why folks are so hell bent on removing it...
Now folks are talking about swapping J pipes back and forth to meet smog complaince... for that whopping 3hp difference.

Just make a pipe that uses a cat. The sell an optional test pipe for the knuckleheads that think it'll make em go faster.

It's already in production. We're waiting for the flanges to be sent back and then we can have a first article ready by first thing next year.

Gains look promising even without a 3rd cat delete! So we'll be offering the additional option of a hi-flow 3rd cat, test pipe, or the choice of retaining the stock cat.

Not yet, BUT...let's just say it will be competitively priced.

And yes, I will make sure that the j-pipes should fit on the TL-S, or at least make a version that will if it doesn't.

hmm.. what will the cells be for the new high-flow cats? From my understanding, the base OEM ones are 1200 cells.. hella restrictive. the TL-S=600cells...

And if it's really 3hp, fkit. might as well throw on a cat, lol

We finallized on a design that would let us retain the equal length piping. Here is a rough mock up.

The new pipe will use 2inch primaries that feed into a very gradual y-flange that won't create any flow interference of exhaust pulses traveling back the other pipe as it passes the junction.

A new thread will be made once the prototype is ready for the dyno and prices are established. This will work with the factory 3rd cat as well as the e-shift 3rd cat. Of course we will also be offering our own metallic 3rd cat and a test pipe for those who want to go that route.

THanks for being patient. We are brewing up potential. =)

This is a factory bolt on. No modifications needed. Will work with OEM exhaust, cat or aftermarket CAT-back exhaust. Will also work with the Greddy, Comptech and/or ATLP Exhaust.

I think your mock up is going to confuse alot of guys who aren't too familiar with this car's undercarriage

the posted image is a mock up, meaning they created bents and tap welded them together just for fitment, the actual jpipe will look nothing like the above, it will be one full flowing piece

this thing bolts up to any tl in 15 minutes tops... 3 bolt flanges for all 3 cats - 9 bolts, if you do a bolt a minute 10mins install heheheh

Thanks for clearing it up Al!

As far as pricing, I'm still trying to attend a few things prior to finalizing costs.

A new thread with all the nitty-gritty details will be up shortly.

The prototype should be finished by the end of next week. What we do then is test it out for a short while to see if there are any fitment/flex problems. The week right after we'll get the product dyno tested and if there are any worthwhile gains, we will release it to the market for pre-orders. Once the pre-order phase is done, it should only be 1-2 weeks max before it's ready for shipping to your door!

Will the final version have a flex pipe?

I always thought that it was required for any car's downpipe; in order to reduce exhaust movement/vibrations caused by the engine...

if you go to page 4 at the picture of the mockup you can see he moved the flex pipe section further back closer to the 3rd cat, essentially so that he could extend the distance before the y pipe

Yes, the final version will have a flex pipe which is a good idea especially if there is a lot of movement from the engine.

Nice observation! Weight savings were also taking into consideration along! We opted for a shorter flex pipe, to keep weight down and also be able to get the longest primaries as well. The pipping thickness is also kept at a minimum, without sacrificing structural integrity and the way sound resonance would come into play with anything thinner. Not worth the sacrifice anything beyond the current reduction.

Although not a huge weight savings, an improvement is what we are looking for.
