We'll be fitting the prototype next week. Depending on how much of an adjustment we need to make, is what will determine how much longer from now. I'll let you guys know once we get it fitted. Hopefully everything clears! It would suck to make 50 units with a minor flaw.

Got you on my list Joe.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, the gains will still be there, but will not be as great as if you did have an exhaust system because it limits the flow by the canisters. But it's still a great improvement over stock and you will feel a gain. It will just be even better with an exhaust system.

Have a fun wait guys!

I hope mike puts ATLP on the Jpipe like the J-Shift in that size just about *hint hint* that would be pretty nice just like the ATLP exhaust... gotta brand your products mike lol

If memory serves me correct, he got a new logo, I'm sure it wont do us wrong...

But then again, I dont know anyone who would go under the car to see who made the j-pipe.

did the richie j-pipe ever get dyno'ed before/after ?

Mikes products proved a great gain on a UA6... i can only imagine the type s putting out an extra hp or 2

^^ actually, once you bolt up that blower, like donnie brasco.... fuh-get about it! j-pipe on s/c application will prove the most power gains across the band. when you are boosted ...it changes things... somebody can probably explain it to you better as to why.. something with the back pressure

The J-shift looks beautiful, but I gotta wonder how well it is gonna flow. By looks alone the ATLP seems like it would flow MUCH better because it is a Y, and not a pipe going into the other. I'll wait for ATLP myself!

for you NA guys, i dont think jpipe design is critical. having anything other than the stock piece will yield gains regardless. doesnt everybody remember E-SHIFT performance dyno'd an NA TL with pro-cats gaining 21whp, but after installing a there custom jpipe, lossed 9whp? that proved that you have to retain a little backpressure and not open up your exhaust too much.

i recently installed richies J-SHIFT pipe and felt some pretty nice gains. however, this is my 3rd jpipe and my previous 2 felt like they flowed better. heres a breakdown of the three,

my 1st jpipe,
Name: 018.jpg
Views: 45
Size: 68.1 KB
Name: 072.jpg
Views: 31
Size: 76.2 KB

^ this was the best flowing one to date, but damn!! it had the worst rasp at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and was just straight loud at WOT. my biggest complaint was it completely changed the deep tone of my comptech exhaust. heres a vid with it on,

loud huh! i didnt really want to hack up my $1000k comptech exhaust to install a resonator, plus i was planning on a true dual that eventually fell though. so it left me scrambling around for another pipe.

2nd jpipe,
Name: 003-3.jpg
Views: 26
Size: 44.3 KB

^ gains were very comparable to the first one. exhaust tone was still annoying, so i bit the bullet and ended up cutting into the catback and installing a resonator anyways. would have kept this one, but my car was to low and had clearance issues. it got damaged so i took it off before it had a chance to leak on me.

3rd jpipe,
Name: 009.jpg
Views: 29
Size: 115.7 KB
Name: 012-1.jpg
Views: 26
Size: 109.6 KB
richies pipe didnt give me quite the gains as the first two, but the exhaust tone is very nice and gave me the sound i was looking for. i had no need for the resonator too.

i might just end up going custom again, but hopefully i can test one out for mike since im local and FI. i recently had a dyno done in dec with my stock jpipe. im getting another one done before the end of the week with richies jpipe. then if mike needs another tester, get one done soon with his ATLP pipe and see the results to compare the three. nobody has proven what kind of gains will be had, for us boosted guys yet.

from the pics, u still had all three cats, correct?? and Since you are s/c'd would u still need a lot of back pressure? From the info that I have from a 3000GT vr-4 and other turbo guys i know around here, they said they don't need as much back pressure as much as us NA guys... And have u ever thoguth about 3" exhaust pipes?

All i gotta say is dam the accord sounded hella mean. I remember messing around with the car when I was about to install the exhaust.. ran the TL with no cat back, just straight from the j-pipe to the 3rd cat and DAM.. it sounded so loud.. like a mini V8.. I noticed a lost in torque...

anyways, hope i see some good #'s out of this... I really want this j-pipe...

the first jpipe deleted the 3rd cat. the 2nd and 3rd retains it, but i used a straight through test pipe with them anyways. with any kind of FI, whether it be tc/sc you want as little to no backpressure as possible. so dyno'ing FI with jpipe and NA with jpipe, is like comparing apples to oranges. thats why im hoping mike will give me the opportunity, so we can have results for boosted applications also

Exclamation

I am getting my car dyno'd today with the current setup, which is aem, p2r, and stage 4 exhaust with 3rd cat delete and then I will go and get a dyno after the jpipe is bolted up.

Dont know when I am going to get the UR pulley. If I get my bonus in the next couple of weeks then maybe I get the pulley very soon.

I am up for some sponsorship LOL , if Mike want to hook my up with some deals cause I just found out that there is a performance shop 10 minutes from my house!!!!!!

I will take photos and some vids for you guys and let you know the results later today.
