ATLP Exhaust??
I'm still new to the whole car modding thing and I don't know a ton yet, but I'm trying lol. I have an 05 TL and my only performance mod so far is a Injen CAI and now I am looking at modding the exhaust. From what I've read I think that I want the ATLP J-Pipe and Race Pipe for now. Later I'm planning to get the ATLP quads and a Type-s back bumper so it'll fit.
I'm close to making a final decision on these, but before I do I need to know if these mods are going to delete any of the cats. If they do, will it make a big enough impact on the emissions so that I fail? I live in Maryland if that helps any.
Thanks I appreciate the help.

the race pipe will delete your third cat. But mikes race pipe has bolt holes to mount your heat shield to it. IT is clever in hiding the race pipe. Looks like at cat with the shield around it. that will help you pass the visual inspection It wont make it throw a cel either.

possible noob or dumb question but what is a cel? and do you think it will make that big of a difference in the emissions testing? if i remember correctly i think i read somewhere it isnt a big difference. but you definitely suggest getting the race pipe correct?

alright thanks man you were a huge help. i think im going to order the j-pipe and race pipe tomorrow or monday. install is easy as well right?
and im assuming the added power is noticeable and makes it a worthy investment ?

yep, comes with gaskets as well. you will get alittle bottlenecking until you get the atlp base exaust. remember the j-pipe and race pipe are 2.5 inches. that will go into your stock exaust which is only 2.0 inches. (i think) you wont feel full power gains until u have all the pieces to the puzzle. Be patient grasshopper.

i think the RV6 puts up more gains than anything. its a true dual system which was built to be used with the RV6 j-pipe to produce the greatest gains. the sound comes second in that system i think

is it a good idea to have the rev limiter removed? not trying to change the subject but the last comment made me wonder. and do you get any rasp rick with the RV6 j-pipe, race pipe and the ATLP exhaust considering they arent the same brand? or does that have nothing to do with it?

I still feel that the TSUDO system is worth it. I am sure the ATLP system and others are great but you paying for the same thing. At the end of the day the systems are just 2.25inch piping and mufflers, what makes it worth $1200?

Why buy TSUDO, when you can get the same thing from a custom shop for $500, or so according to another member.

does the j pipe (atlp) actually make the oem exhaust or after market exhaust louder?
does it actually produce more horsepower gains not only dynoed but that you can feel?

Good choice. ATLP base & quads are essentially the same at heart, just different tips & I think the quad is just slightly louder at WOT.
