Atlp
Hey, this is my first post! I am a huge novice when it comes to cars and forums both, so please help me along! Um, anyhow, I'm looking into a new exhaust for a TL Type-S (07) I just bought! I've decided on the ATLP! But I still am a little leery on some things. The biggest thing for me is noise. I want something that is louder than stock by at least 20-30% but not so much that it will wake the neighbors coming home at night! And I definetley don't want drone! (I don't mind hearing a little cabin noise to show off to my friends though...) I can only afford the catback right now, but should I buy the resonated or non resonated... Like on a scale of 1-10, 1 being stock, what would each exhaust score! If there's any YouTube videos of either of these without j pipe and race pipes or cat deletes, that would be great too! Thanks!

Even without the resonator we would classify the ATLP as a "medium-loud" exhaust. It is not extremely attention getting, and doesn't drone much if at all.

Get the resonated. I have non-resonated and I'm always told by friends that it surprises them that such a good sounding exhaust outside has very little drone inside. So if it is a concern for you, I am sure resonated will keep you on the safe side.

one last thing... im still leaning towards the unresonated a little... if i get it, is the little drone thats ther very much? i drive it in the auto mode when i am in traffic and i dont want it interfering with conversations... is there a comparison video between unresonated and resonated or something? are there any soundclips of the resonated that arent just idling or very little reving?

If you're trying to stay on the cheap, do the "poor mans" CAI, remove both resonators & mid-muffler, add a a single magaflow or dynomax resonator and you'll be happy. That was my set up for a long time before I went to full bolt-on's (PCD, CAI, jpipe, atlp non res) Maybe the jpipe too? Any exhaust shop can do that for you relatively cheap.

Our XLR8 exhaust sounds the best by far in my opinion. It sounds more exotic than the other exhausts and the resonated version reduces drone. The J-Pipe will add a little extra sound and some more growl, but it's more for power. It deletes the third cat which frees up alot of air flow. As long as you leave your precats in place, you will most likely still pass emissions too. And it won't throw a check engine light since the third cat isn't monitored.
We have our V2 J-Pipe available on our website for $475 not including shipping.
