dido... I've been pondering just purchasing one for the 04-06, but I don't have the budget for another motor if I blow this one

 

I contacted them and they said the earliest would be by the end of this year.

 

^^^ when I spoke w/ them they said mid summer to late fall this yr....either way, this gives me some time to save my money

 

^^^Knowing Comptech, that probably means sometime next year. They are notoriously slow.

it's funny, cuz all they need is a new ecm why can't they just work with like a piggy back and save us the wait

 

probably not enough buyer demand. We should set up a poll and see how many Type S owners would purchase a S/C and send it to them and that could possibly speed things up.

products are PHENOMENAL... times... yikes. they were supposed to have developed the TL-S catback by march-april this year (according to nate when i spoke to him in august)... if they tell you 6 months, double it to be safe.

Also, if we gave them a list of 40 people, and like 30 backed up (which is quite possible considering the blower will be list $4995, we look like asses... some dealerships like acura of escondido and Lynn or Lynwood whatever usually sell them at like 15-20% discount ,so you still figure $4k+ for the blower

yes... all they really have to do is crack the ECU/ACM tuning and call it a day.. but what they really need, is a guinea pig... if somebody truely, and whole-heartedly is willing to leave their car with comptech for like 2 or 3 weeks, then , and ONLY then will they have a good chance of getting this blower to us quicker.

you guys in cali who are local should consider it.. take the list of 40 people and have them donate 10-15$ for your rental car...

I don't think you'll get close to enough people to make it worth their while.

If they've got civics and such that continue to draw their attention, then that's where the effort will go.

Shit, the original 3G SC is still not completely right. Comptech isn't doing anything about that and Hondata has been working on it for quite some time now.

 

I called comptech and was told that they no longer do street engines, only racing cars. Some company called CT Engineering bought that portion of the projects out and will possibly do superchargers, anyone got their info. They are in Sacramento, CA.

no we just bolt up the tl-p and use a greddy emanage... hondata save us :'(

 

i am sure they will, since it appears that all the mounting points and physical shape will work from the 3.2L supercharger.. it really is just a matter of ECU/ACM... and maybe having to custom fab a different mounting bracket that holds the blower in place, since the UA7 has a different subframe/transmission

 

^^^ you think it would be more than the 60-65 hp they have currently for the 3.2?

 

^ it will be about that much if not more if they really tune the ecm, anything 50+ is good stuff

 

^^^ for 4-5k, you would expect a lot more don't you think? I know its not a RWD that can withstand an additional 200 whp increase but 80-100 couldn't hurt. right?

 

80 to 100 will require updrages to the injectors and air fuel ratio... because you'd want it to lean out at boost... doubt comptech would risk the motor for couple more ponies

its possible, but prob really expensive.
