Well, I'm contemplating doing some exhaust work. I have already had the mid-muffler removed from the stock exhaust, and it was a temporary fix, but now it's time to move on.

I was talking to a local shop and the guy does some awesome work. He told me that the stock piping would be fine, and to just use mufflers and stock tips again if I choose to do so.

I am really only looking for some sound more than any performance gains since I know exhausts dont add much to begin with.

My question is, is the stock piping sufficient? I can't imagine the guy telling me to go a cheaper route and him not make as much money. He spent almost 35 minutes with me when I stopped by, so I know he is not trying to blow me off or anything like that. He is willing to do what I want, but said in most cases, it's not worth it.

Any suggestions?

The system I finally put on my TL uses the stock piping. I was more interested in sound than anything else.

 

awesome. You used the magnaflows correct? I will just do a search for the part numbers then. He is only charging me $75 to weld them in place with the stock tips, so I think that's a fair price.

 

yes thats a great price. yes I used magnaflows, 11365 i believe...the part numbers are floating around here somewhere
