Another ATLP Homerun!!!
Is if i thought my car couldnt get any faster......
I installed the ATLP HFC (Hi-Flow Cat) today... and the difference was noticeable.... not the 4whp you "gain" from a P2R spacer, but the type of increase you may have felt when you installed the ATLP J-Pipe on a stock TL
Maybe because my Car was already heavily modified, and i still had a stock 3rd cat in place.... but i plan to dyno this week, and i can almost ensure, i will gain AT LEAST 5whp.... maybe even 6 or 7....
I also did a fresh oil change, with the Mobile M104 (S2K) filter, Mobil 1 (as always)... so when i pulled out my friends shop... my car snapped my neck harder than it EVER has before
Kudos to Mike for another success!!!
- Reults not typical. Actual results may vary. LOL....
My current setup was RV6 Pre-cats, ATLP J-Pipe, ATLP Quads... with a 2.25" cat smack in the middle.... i think by opening up that bandwidth to 2.5" from PCD back, really increased the velocity of the exhaust flow.... I will dyno once i installed my next mod but that one probably wont gain much power.... we'll see
Gain anybody say 300 WHp 5AT TL ???
i pulled 294 before the HFC... this dyno does read a 'tad' high, but its still a dyno-jet.... so results are pretty accurate IMO

it actually made my downshifts more fluid, because of the change in velocity.... and when i hit the LIE (from one of those "red stop sign lights") i slammed the throttle, and for the first time EVER, my neck actually snapped back... my VSA did all sorts of new things today
I'm ready for the 1/4 mile !!
B, why dont you come dyno one day.... i would gaurantee you get at least 260+ whp at SpeedWorld

i think Dyno'ing your car and mine back to back on the same dyno will be a GREAT idea...
so we can compare that extra mod, plus see just how effective the Greddy tune you have is and what kind of gains it provides.... we can compare a/f as well, since we'll be using the same dyno

Hell yea... it decreased my TERRIBLE highway drone a lot....Made the car growl deeper... and guess what, as always, i still dont have ONE DROP OF RASP !!!!! NOT ONE !!!

convince bforbrian to come down and dyno
Dude, the drone is no kidding, reduced... still there of course (non-res exhaust) but greatly reduced when crusing on the highway, and giving the car throttle (probably the most annoying part about the drone). Cabin sound has definitely decreased... wish i had a dB meter
slighly better... still there of course, but i dont think it builds up under the car as much, because the air restriction on the OEM 3rd cat... when i floored the car, it smelled a TINY bit less than usual
Fed Ex delivered @ 1PM... Installed at 2PM

i've never bought anything from there, or had experience with their sales/service.... they seemed WAY over priced on a quote i got for some Varianza T1S Last year (Like $700 a wheel in 19's)... Dyno's a fair price...$75 3 pulls, $90 with A/F... but they usually do the A/F for free when i pay the $75 bucks

oh.. and according to Mike at ATLP.. i got the last one!!! Not sure if he was just trying to make me feel better, or get the sale.. but regardless of salesmanship... i was finally ready to buy this thing....
i opted out of using the OEM heatsheild... probably provides no benefit except for visual inspections... and i probably save 1lb of my curb weight!!
My next goal, not as crazy as the "TL DIET" but i do intend on shedding some pounds....
a Braille battery, remove the back seat again for a while ( i never use the damn thing), OEM jack, the big weight on the front bumper support... maybe relocate the battery to the trunk for better distribution... and of course, some ultra light-weight wheels... i wont spoil anything... but 19 x 8.5 , 20lbs, 19 x 9.5 21lbs may be coming soon!!!!
that god damn "mod-bug" has found its way back.... there goes my $$

I'd like to come down too and re-dyno my car, last time I dyno'd was only 25miles after the mods were installed
dyno day?!?
Was the previous dyno #'s SAE corrected? because my previous dyno uncorrected was 283whp if I can remember, corrected was 263

They probably are 18.9 or 19.3... I pulled 20lbs out of my anus

Man, I love seeing those numbers. I'm all for individuality as well, but dammit, I'd be lying if I said I didn't want my car producing that power.

Anyway in unrelated news... I was down there hangin a few weeks ago and they were tuning an EVO. Put down 586@36PSI and then 924@49PSI with race gas. HOLLLYYYY CRAAAPPPPPP. I was heartbroken when I left just for the simple fact I barely spun the rollers when they dynoed my sled. lol.

exhaust has the same mods. but blackura has several things i dont have, such as TB spacer, IM gaskets, motor mounts(im sure there is more stuff). so he will definitely put down more power than me. but how much? we will see how much of a difference the spacer, gasket, and motor mounts make
