am i missing something?

If I get a K&N air filter, new spark plugs, and a CAI... wouldn't that increase my HP to over 310 and get better gas mileage, all for about $600?

I just picked up my TL-S last saturday after a long debate between the TL-S and G35 sport... the main thing infiniti was pushing was the HP difference. But the price of the G35 was $1500 more. But with $600 don't I get more HP and Better mpg?

a cai will already have a high flow filter, so you wont need the k&n. and the new plugs are kinda pointless cuz' you already have brand new plugs. And these items will not bring you the hp that you are thinking. I would suggest the cai, the pulley, the pro-cats, im and tb spacers, ground wires... They may be able to get you to 310 @ the crank. FI, maybe?, but with a post like that one, Im guessing you need to use the search button and do a lot of reading up-

wouldn't a CAI reduce your gas mileage? I remember when I installed a CAI on my Toyota Celica 2000, my mileage went down.

That's assumable horsepower, to the crank. If you don't know what that means, do some research on what the difference is between HP to the crank vs. to the wheels.

To be honest with you, my friend has a G35 6MT coupe, and stock for stock, he usually gets about 1 car on me from the launch, but after that the TL slowly plays catch up.

Handling wise even though the G35 is a RWD car, the TL IMO feels much more predictable, and not as heavy either. But then again, that all boils down to the driver. My friend tracks his car (M3), and his instructor was only 5 seconds behind driving an H2. This is on a circuit track, not drag.
