Air Filter Fram CA8475 ???
Guys.. is this the correct part number for a 2004?.. has anyone tried it.. It seems to be a little bit different. The Acura one I have in my car is rectagle and the gasket around it is straight around the air filter... the Fram is the Looks amost the same but the gasket is angled

yeah i went to walmart and thats the part they showed me. Their book said it was for a 2004 Type-S as well. I told them this must be for a 2003 and the smart ass biatch behind the counter was like "they sell acuras all over the world so their is a Type-s somewhere." I just walked away. Long story short, that part is for the last gen!

only options you have right now is OEM, and K&N, Wix may make one, but I can't confirm that.
Part number for K&N is 33-2299. I just put mine in, fits like a glove.

None of the typical aftermarket air filters you find (like STP, Fram, etc) fit the 3G TL. Purolator's book didn't even list a number for '04 TL -- so at least they admit it!! I had a smart-ass kid at AutoZone tell my that maybe "my car" was different -- "are you sure it's not a Type S?" -- and filled me in on how there might well be a 2004 type S because of some crap like "there's no such thing as a 1982 corvette, but I had a guy whose registration said '82 and the build date was blah blah blah." I love getting a ton of irrelevant info from a GM-head. He gave me another story about Camaros. How this affects my returning an air filter that don't fit I just couldn't see....I think he got pissed when I told him his store's computer is not up-to-date!
My dealer wanted $30 or $36 for an air filter and I got one online for $19 + $5 shipping from DelRay Acura in FL. Took about 3 or 4 days from order to receipt.
Using links found in this forum, or a google search, you can find less-expensive OEM replacement parts that even after shipping will be less than what the dealer wants. I'm gonna use the 'net to buy a bunch of Filtech oil filters and dozens of oil plug washers/gaskets whatever they wanna call 'em.

Meek, if I were to make a hasty prediction on your Autozone trip, I'd say that they won't have an air filter that fits. Unless they have K & N which I doubt. All the ones I've seen in the auto stores have that angled gasket, which won't work, and they are somewhat different size (wider, IIRC).
Good luck, tho!

You can get the filter on line for about $25 and you can get a K&N for $40. Might it be worth it just to buy the K&N get the potentially better performance/economy and even throw it out after 20-30 K
