my guess is that by now you've gotten over the initial excitement of the intakes sound.
after a while, we tend to get used to the sound of things. after I installed my xlr8 exhaust, I was all 'holy crap this is loud'...but after a month, I don't even think it's loud at all.
it's just your mind playing tricks on you man.

I had a dead possum wadded up in mine. I rammed it so hard, I put my foot straight through the floorboard and the possum blew through my throttle body and got stuck in my intake runners. I just Sea-Foamed it and all is fine now.

I'm not sure about what you guys are ramming or why, but you might want to make sure that the filter is properly attached and so are all the connection points. ALWAYS check your screws/bolts for proper torque after a drive after an install and make sure they are to spec.

GUYS GUYS.... OP, search my friends. Did u disconnect the battery? My guess is that u did when u installed the V2. The computer resets when u disconnect, therefore has an adjusted airflow while it learns your driving habits. After it learns & adjusts to the ideal air fuel ratio, your car will feel like it has lost the CAI kick. This brings us to the age old argument.... will CAI really improve HP? In my opinion, not after the computer adjusts to the factory specs.
But PLEASE.... don't take my word for it. I won't even bother arguing about it. SEARCH FOR YOURSELVES.
BTW. I too have a AEM V2. Have had it for years.

I have heard this before on some Honda/Acura's I believe it is the Vtec sileniod engaging vtec " which is the click" you hear right before you hear the vtec boom.
#22
also the click your hearing in the seleniod may or may not be a normal sound... I used to hear that on my previous car "Integra Type R" and if I am correct I believe the seleniod runs off of some sort of fluid pressure that opens it thus engaging vtec..... I think its more prevelant on some cars then others, not every car and piece of equipment sounds the same.... Not sure if our seleniods operate the same way as the ITR as it was a 2001 and things could have changed .... again thats what I believe it is since I distinctly remember the "click" as well.

I <3 CAI threads.
If you have to ram it harder to make the rrrrrrrruuuuummmm noise more than likely you are just used to the sound like others have suggested. It can't hurt to double check your work making sure sure everything is tight and there are no possums where they don't belong. Especially if you ram it hard.

19 year olds.. still young and naive. (No offense to OP).
No need to take it apart, you're just used to the sound by now. It happened to me within a few weeks also. I barely hear my V2 now unless I'm at 4k+ rpm..

aww man i now i hear a rattling noise (not to bed bothered about) when i accelerate but i believe that the filter came a little loose. I'm going to have to take my bumper off again, oh well i guess now i can take this chance to plug in my 8k HID bulbs hehe.
