Aem v2 installed ftw!
So installed my V2 this weekend, thanx to the help of a few AZINERS & 300Z'er. (THANX GUYS) Install was maybe 30 mins tops, of course this was with 3 guys + me. Only thing that held us back was that the engine was still a bit hot... Guess I was too excited & ran the car a bit hard on the way to LOONATIX14's garage. HA! OMGTL evin tried to siphon out some of the BURNING COOLANT FLUID from the hose that had to be replaced.... (Don't try that at home kids)
Ok, so my thoughts: I knew not to expect huge gains from any intake, so my main concern was to avoid the huge intake noise. I was against getting any intake for the sake of sounding too LOUD. I wanted something low & mean.
HUGE SUCCESS!!!!!............... how do I know u ask?
That same night I took my wife out to dinner (sat night)... No response, she didn't notice a thing. WIN#1
The next day we took a trip to visit her parents (1hour away, & she drove the hole way AND BACK) Quiet as stock all the way ther. She took her sister to buy dinner for the familly that night. NOT A WORD from either of them... WIN#3
Then while driving home on the FWY she had a stupid aggressive driver try to pass her (last minute) as his lane ended... BIG MISTAKE (my wife gets kinda anal at stupid drivers so she sped up) I think the sound alone scared HIM and HER!!!!! she was like "WTF was THAT!" WIN MF# 3-9!!
OK, OK I get it, CAI don'd ad super human horse power strength, but damn! that sound just mentally ads like 30 HP LOL!
Needless to say she accellerated fast enough to leave him with a nice dose of road rash. & SHE DIDNT MIND!
REVIEW:
LOUDNESS WHILE NORMAL DRIVING : 2/10
YOU CAN BARELY NOTICE IT IF YOU ARE TRYING
LOUDNESS WHILE HARD DRIVING : 8/10
UBER SEXY LOW GROWLING
POWER : 3/10
ITS ONLY A CAI, what do u expect
MY OVERAL TAKE : 9/10
Perfect for those who wanna maintain a factory/stock sound UNTILL YOU FLOOR IT! Only wish it wouldn't stand out as much in the engine bay.

I agree with everything you have posted.
I would like to add that I found my throttle to be a lot "lighter" after my install---I did not need as much pedal to accelerate at the same rate. This has translated into some MPG for me. I drive mostly highway miles. The sound at WOT is cool, too. Um, sorry----UBER-COOL!
I especially like the "Intake Fart" when you turn off the engine!
Check the 3G Garage for the DIY Install video on the AEM intake---pictures and videos are worth a thousand words, but to answer your question there is a coolant line that goes into the throttle body that needs to be moved.
Also, for those that want pics, here is an old one of mine that I took when I installed last year:

Triod, congrats on the V2.
To anyone who could help...I was planning on swapping out my V1 for the V2 this weekend. I didn't install the V1 so I'm not sure what was involved but have watched the videos. Is this going to be a fairly obvious remove and replace install? I was just going to try and go through the wheel well versus taking the bumper off. I thought I read the lower mounting points are different. Any pointers appreciated.

One on the right for me
You will not have any problems with washing the car or when it rains unless you drive through a really, really deep puddle.
It is pretty easy to re-install the stock air box. Just make sure you keep all the pieces. If might help to take a picture of it with the front bumper off so you can see how it all goes back together.

Take off the bumper--makes access SOO much easier. Only adds a few minutes to the install.
The V2 is wider in diameter than the V1. Going through the wheel well makes scratches that much more likely.
If you've seen the video, you've seen how to install it.
Make sure you get a good picture of how the hoses are routed before disconnecting anything (applies mostly to those who have to remove OEM stuff). Take your time and figure things out before you remove anything.
Note that you probably will not notice a big difference between V1 and V2, other than noise, maybe.
Good luck---post pics!

The V2 is not made specifically for the TL. You have to buy the Honda Accord version.

I noticed a very slight hiss with mine---about 2000-3000rpm. Very slight and does not last through the entire powerband. 5AT---can't speak to the manual guys.
Sounds almost like a turbo whine, but for a very short duration.
I don't find it offensive at all.

Hey guys,
Why buy the V2 for the accord when it's right here for the TL? Am I missing something?
http://store.excelerateperformance.c...c/i-47067.aspx
Also, I live in Oregon where it rains quite a bit. Any input on whether I'll be ok in the wet weather?
THANKS
