Aem v2 is an improved design. There are two different sized diameters and it's a dual chamber design (tube inside of a tube). This is meant to pack in more air and optimize power for different rpm ranges.

Hope you weren't told it was a v2 and paid v2 prices. I would send it back and get a v2 personally, there's reasons why they redesigned the v1 to the v2. Might as well get the latest and greatest.

lol V2? that is just a regular CAI. It doesn't sound that nice compared to the v2. How much did you pay?

yeah it make a huge difference in sound. The v2 is much deeper and refine. I think you can get a v2 for 250 if you look around.

have fun modding the car. The worst part was getting that intake resonator out.

take your foot and stomp the intake resonator out, but make sure all bolts and stuff are out first.

10/16/15

10/16/15 aem installed

I have installed the (v1) aem intake which i thought was v2 due to my lack of research and i like the overall performance/sound.

Questions to people who went from v1 to v2: Should i keep v1 or switch it for v2 ?
Unless there are going to be significant change or noticeable sound change i don't think i'll change it.

already installed so leave it. why didn't you install the cai support (bracket) to the vibration damper (rubber mount)? unless that was an unfinished pic?

sound would be deeper with a v2 and you would get more performance from it if you had intake/exhaust mods. but if you are mostly stock no big difference

I meant like PnP runners/IM/bored tb. Still you have decent mods you prob would benefit from a v2 which was the same cost

I have one in my '04 Accord and like the return on the mod. So I'm thinking of putting one in my '08 TL. Would I have to remove the front bumper every time I need to clean the filter or can the intake be pulled up from underneath the hood?

Thanks.

You don't need to do either. You turn the wheel completely and pull back the fender liner. You can then remove and clean the filter by itself. It's super easy

I know AEM v2's part number is "24-6110C Gun metal", and I'm having a trouble identifying V2.
Here I have two sites (amazon & heeltoes) offering a V2 under same part #, but i see a different design.

Amazon
Amazon.com: AEM 24-6110C Gun Metal V2 Induction System: Automotive Amazon.com: AEM 24-6110C Gun Metal V2 Induction System: Automotive

Heeltoes

a v2 has a very distinct change in diameters. there's a larger tube on the straight portion, and then when it bends to go towards the throttle body there is a smaller diameter tube. your tube is just one diameter the entire length...aka v1.

also the v2 isn't sold in that blue color any more...the only ones available for a few years now is the grey version.

you bought a v1.

I still can't decide whether i should switch from v1 to V2.

Strictly speaking in terms of Sound, will it be LOT louder ? I know there won't be significant improvement in performance from intake, but I'm merely going for sound.

would appreciate to hear opinions from owner who went from V1 to V2 !
Thanks in advance, and sorry for asking redundant questions over & over again.
